Call me when women start dressing like they did back in 1949-1950.

Not all who hold MLIS degrees are liberals. There’s an MLIS-holder on this site whose screen name brings to mind a highland out in the South Pacific.

Murthaugh wants it kept secret.

You’re not wearing a bowler hat by any chance, are you?

Is this all an adjunct to the Steam Punk craze?

Does the term Victorian apply to the US? Since her tastes in clothing and literature seem to be mostly from the 1880s and 1890s, I would say that she lives a postbellum lifestyle. The Yank term for the late 19th century is The Gilded Age.

The corset of today is called a Spanks. I tried one on and I thought I was going to die before I got it off. It pushed my intestines up and they crowded my lungs and I couldn't breathe. It even took a minute or 2 after I got the thing off before I could catch my breath properly. I actually thought I was going to die!

Playing dress-up doesn’t harm anyone.
I wonder what they use for toilets, though.

Spanx is a US capitalist success story.

A friend of my Grandpas was a doctor. He called womens undergarment bear traps. He hated them and thought them unhealthy. And that was in 1966.

She’s a fruit. Is it not possible to dress tastefully and still align with one’s own century? This is a mental illness — a harmless one, by all appearances, but a mental dysfunction all the same.

Yeah, but are you a female? The bone structure in males would make it unable to be properly worn.

I am happy for her and all the women who like them but I can’t wear her product. I doubt if I am the only one who feels this way.
