No indeed. But it was fun while it lasted.
...so long as you vote democrap.
LOL I bet they were. And still getting Retirement and Soc. Sec. checks, too.
You beat me to it!
That Leticia James is a world-class nut-job.
Oy vey, good luck to you all, you’re going to need it.
My brother still lives in the big apple, I’m sure he’ll be less than thrilled with these results.
True.
But they're greatly helped by all the wealth that came before in a world when the tax burden was generally low.
Now they enjoy the wealth for free and also capture a surplus through taxes that in another time would have created wealth elsewhere.
At a minimum there should be a national property tax (collective property included) to fund the military paired with a reduction in the income tax to make things revenue neutral.
Tell New Yorkers that they've got to pay their fair share for the protection of the wealth of Central Park and maybe they'll begin to turn around.
The rich will leave New York, only an idiot would stay there now..their taxes are going to go through the roof..the ones left will be the ones waiting for a handout, when there is no money left, they will turn on each other, because where else will the money come from
The last time I watched it I introduced it to my 15 year old daughter. She recognized Charlton Heston as the âNRA guyâ (in a good way) and said âAren’t all those zombies just hippies in White make-upâ? Yes they were. But it was fun to watch!
Most of the rich have homes there but live in tax haven Florida. Jeter being one.
one of the, if not the, most evil ideas in the history of mankind.

Last man on earth, NYC edition.
Well, they were in coffins, but yeah, they were stacked up, just sitting there. Let me google, I was pretty little when this happened, but my grandmother liked to visit the cemetary and I did see them there.
Wow, bit of news down the memory hole, the only thing I could quickly find was a scan of the Toledo Blade newspaper, but it confirmed my recollection, they went on strike in the middle of winter (Jan, 1970), so you know, temps very cool. Although it is often above freezing in NYC even in the middle of winter.
One looks back at those days and kind of laughs, but I was there and it was really awful. I left NYC before Giuliani was elected. It had just gotten worse and worse. I remember (this must have been about the mid-80s) being with a good friend (and we were both hard core city girls) walking on St Mark’s Place (8th st.) in the East Village on a 9 o’clock on a Saturday night, and we were just clutching each other in fear. Everyone around us was pretty much a criminal or a potential victim of a criminal. There were like a million black guys with all junk and stuff spread out on blankets that they were selling, but you knew it was all stolen, but it was all crap.
That was my low moment in NYC, it was really on the edge of the abyss.
This is why I will always love Rudy Giuliani, he stopped all that and turned it around. If you lived through life there for the 30 years I did, from 1958 to 1988 you knew what a super-human achievement that really was.
Now those who never did live through it are going to throw that all away.
It’s a sad day, tragic really.
I just want to know if the commie DeBlasios are going to move their family to Gracie Mansion.
The Robinson Crusoe theme has always been very appealing.
Great! Chicago and Detroit need some competition.
New York looks like a gigantic Detroit to me.....the successful will bail out in droves and leave the remnants to the slugs if humanity.
Thanks for the vivid description of NYC. You saw it go from bad to better and now it will go to the worst under this commie. Well, I hope they suffer for it bit stay where they are.
I don’t think Gracie Mansion is used by the Mayor any longer.
you cannot sell widgets, made in America at a production cost of $1.00 each, for the same profit as those made in China for $0.12 each!
F$&$ NYC.
And the whole damn east coast trying to run all our lives
My advice. Move the hell away. And fast
The winter alone should convince you
Nuff sed.
