The rule of thumb is that whatever Highland Park turns in for enrollment, then that is the cut-off for the 4a classification. We can’t have Dallas’ finest families have their sons playing against the likes of Hillcrest, North Dallas, and Woodrow Wilson, which are the closest high schools around. That dog just won’t hunt.

We have a mercy rule in high school football here in New Mexico. If, by the half, one team is up by 50 points the game is called.

Kind of sucks for the Marching Band half time show.

I remember driving up to ME listening to a bill oilers play off game at the half it was was was 51 to zero oilers so I shut the game off it was over. Not so the bills won to go on to the s b.

It was 28-3 Houston at halftime. Buffalo scored four touchdowns in the third quarter and finished regulation play tied at 38-38. They went on to win 41-38 with a field goal in overtime.

Impressive as hell, but not 51-0 at the half.
