It’s Oct. Baseball should have ended last month.

The Cardinals pitcher took Hanley Ramirez out of the series. This must NOT be tolerated. I hope Ryu knocks Beltran down and out for the series as well. Bastard Cardinals!
The Dodgers CAN come back. It CAN be done. Next games are in L.A. and the fans will be motivated to back their team!
Puig needs to go back to his old batting swing before McGwire ruined it. Gonzalez' bat is going to come alive, you watch. The Cardinals have a powerhouse of a team, with an unbelievable pitching crew but like any team, their overconfidence can also be their downfall.

Hopeful no rains outs and it doesn’t slop over into November again. Game 7 of the World Series is scheduled for Halloween night.

Even in 1927, the World Series was played in October.
They should reduce the number of post season teams to say, two, however. So we don't risk a .509 team W/L percentage getting into the Series on the strength of two starting pitchers.

Yes, that’s the pinnacle and I work/live here. The Dodgers, just like the Lakers are toast. I already placed my bets on the Tigers winning it all.

I think it was a must win game for Boston last night instead they were shutout in a near no hitter by number 3 in the rotation.

As an Astros fan, I can honestly say you are an idiot. Wishing an injury to a player is an honest testement of how low class of a slug you are.
Go Cards. Thank God there are some decent LA fans, because you sure aren't one.

Kershaw held the Cards to two hits and one run over six innings... And the Dodgers still lost. It doesn't look good.
How do the Cards manage to turn it on every year in the playoffs?

Reggie Jackson was known as “Mr October”, played in late 60’s and 70’s. The 162 game schedule came before 1960, I’m sure (remember Roger Maris’ asterisk?) . That would have pushed the end of the regular season close to September 30 , although there were double headers every Sunday and a few twi-nighters during the week. It certainly strted going into October by 1969 when the play off format came in.

Sox are down one game and still have to face Scherzer and Verlander.

Scherzer and Buchholz pitching tonight in Boston then I’m assuming Verlander will pitch the first game in Detroit.

The difference so far seems to be baseball IQ and batting discipline. The Dodgers are swinging for the fences instead of working the at bats. They have left so many men in scoring position it makes me wonder if they have been taking lessons from the Diamondbacks.
