I just watched the episode at amc.com, and the closed captioning were excellent!

I don’t think the woods girl killed the boar, I think she just came up on it. She did call it a boar, though. Saw it in the closed captioning!

;-)

OK, so after woods girl has Rick back at her camp, she says something about how she wanted to drag the boar carcass back to her camp, but by just walking she got Rick back to the camp more quickly. Something like that.

They're great on iTunes, too.
CatherineofAragon, what was it that you were looking for? I can try and get it for ya.

There are many times when I just can't understand what the character is saying because they seem to be mumbling.

So it isn't just me. It sounded as if they were talking under water.

Off topic.
(Well, not really)
But, I like how this started with Rick wearing the earbuds while working the crops.
Rick finds the buried 1911, and one earbud falls off.
The moans are instantly audible.

Max Brooks’s book, “The Zombie Survival Guide,” mentions that it’s important to have some kind of hearing protection. The moans of the zombies can drive humans into madness when heard over long periods of time.

That was a nice touch to start off the new season with.

Ah, that's the statement I couldn't understand....

Looks like I was wrong as usual about the dead pig. I never put two and two together when I saw the dead boar because I only caught a glimpse of the dead dear head and thought someone had killed it and taken the carcass away to be eaten. Then the girl appeared so I thought she was the one who killed them.

Watching the "Talking Dead" I was able to pick up on things that I had missed or misinterpreted during the show.......

Especially the dead head in the bag......LOL!

what was it that you were looking for?

I think she was commenting on my statement about not being able to understand some of the dialog.

CJ mentioned the boar and that was the word the girl had said that I couldn't figure out...

Yea, because it takes time to bleed out and die............

Just enjoy it for what it is instead of dissecting and criticizing it.......wow.

And no. She bled out. Died. And came back the next morning when Andrea shot her in the head.

Shane, on the other hand, was killed by Rick and then came back almost immediately necessitating Carl shooting him.

I guess this could be an incidental thing, over looked by the script writers, or it's a plot element that adds to the detail of the mythos they are creating for us.

Either way, it's worth hypothesizing about because that is what fans do with a show like this...

Andrea's sister

I can't even remember her.....and I'm now having a problem placing Andrea. Was she the one who ended up in the dentist chair?

I thought when the animal was laying there, heavy breathing, it was mentioned. Or it may have been when they got to the woman’s camp site and she remarked how much easier it was to get Rick there then the Boar. Maybe I’m wrong.

Thanks, RandallFlagg....it was Hot Tabasco who was looking for some dialogue, and he got it.

I love your name, lol.

OK, so I’m watching the scenes of Rick and the woods girl again. (They call the woods girl “Clara” in the Talking Dead).

Rick is walking in the woods when he comes up on a boar lying on the ground. The boar is breathing and making groaning sounds. Looks kind of like Violet did at the beginning of the episode. Rick starts walking towards the boar, but then steps behind a tree when he sees what he thinks is a Walker walking towards the boar. He is surprised when the “Walker” looks up at him and asks him for help.

Clara has a heavy accent and she sounds kind of hoarse. She did say that she and her husband (”Eddie”) hadn’t eaten for days, so maybe the hoarseness is related to that?

Clara said that she and her husband were on their way to Puerto Vallarta (Mexico) for their honeymoon. She doesn’t say where she’s from, but maybe Ireland based on her accent?

She mentions having to be willing to eat animal carcasses in order to survive. She only has that small knife on her, so she probably did not hurt the boar - I think it might be sick from the same illness as Violet.

Clara says that she “wanted to take the boar” but she knew she could get Rick back to her camp much quicker.

Hope this helps!

Thinking about Clara's husband Eddie, this joke came to mind:

A man is waiting for his wife to give birth. The doctor comes in and informs the dad that his son was born without a torso, arms or legs. The son is just a head! But the dad loves his son and raises him as well as he can, with love and compassion.

After 21 years, the son is now old enough for his first drink. Dad takes him to the bar, tearfully tells the son he is proud of him and orders up the biggest, strongest drink for his boy. With all the bar patrons looking on curiously and the bartender shaking his head in disbelief, the boy takes his first sip of alcohol. Swoooop! A torso pops out! The bar is dead silent; then bursts into a whoop of joy. The father, shocked, begs his son to drink again.

The patrons chant "Take another drink"! The bartender still shakes his head in dismay. Swoooop! Two arms pops out! The bar goes wild. The father, crying and wailing, begs his son to drink again. The patrons chant "Take another drink"! The bartender ignores the whole affair.

By now the boy is getting tipsy, and with his new hands he reaches down, grabs his drink and guzzles the last of it. Swoooop! Two legs pop out. The bar is in chaos. The father falls to his knees and tearfully thanks God. The boy stands up on his new legs and stumbles to the left... then to the right... right through the front door, into the street, where a truck runs over him and kills him instantly.

The bar falls silent. The father moans in grief. The bartender sighs and says... "He should have quit while he was a head!"
