Yes, IF he could stay healthy, which he can’t.
Trade him and resign Lester to a long term deal. Then move Workman to the starting rotation, see what Peavy does and go from there.
Peavy’s off the books after next year; Lackey after 2015.T hey should have more youngsters or free agents to plug in to those spots.
Though Tampa/St. Pete is a bit of a drive from here I have been there to see the Indians and Rays play. Too bad the playoff game in Cleveland didn’t go their way.
I wish I had seen that last night. It's one of my and hubby's favorite shows. I was so busy watching the NESN and MLB Network post-game shows, I forgot about ESPN.
I regularly watch the MLB network hilite program, and Harold Reynolds is lucky that ESPN forced him out over that trumped up sexual harassment accusation.. He's superb.
My husband and I agree with you... Harold Reynolds is superb and I fully believe that was a trumped up sexual harassment accusation, as you said.
Living in CT, I hear lots of rumors of what it's like to work at Bristol, CT-based ESPN. Overall it doesn't sound like a great place to work. Harold is either lucky - or smart - to get out of ESPN.
Those Sawx fans had nothing else to do, as I'm sure the Fenway-area bars were all closed last night, LOL.
We were lucky to have attended the awesome Saturday night game at Fenway, when the Red Sox defeated the Detroit Tigers. In anticipation of excessive "celebration" that night, the Boston Police closed down all the bars in the immediate Fenway area.
We stayed inside Fenway until about 1:15 AM, but once we were out on the street, we were stunned to see all the bars closed. Usually the bars on Lansdowne Street are hopping until the wee hours on a Saturday night...
Yes, we were rooting for Terry Francona's Indians!
I agree. Who the hell knows what's going on inside Clay's head?
Found this on BostonDirtDogs.com last night (you have to watch a short commercial before video starts):
Watch Buchholz lobbing balls in the outfield before Game 1 of the WS
Clay looks rather girlish, doesn't he? *sigh*
I agree. I assume Dumb and Dumber are Joe Buck and the super-annoying Tim McCarver.
I can barely tolerate Buck - he seems to be Fox Sports #1 Golden Boy - but McCarver??? There are so many other former MLB players who would be SO much better in that role than Tim McCarver!
“Clay looks rather girlish, doesn’t he? *sigh*”
Hence, the term ‘irma’.
“I assume Dumb and Dumber are Joe Buck and the super-annoying Tim McCarver.”
Yep.
There are so many other announcers that would be better than either of them, period.
Here’s a thought..if Kershaw’s gonna get $300 mill, what’s Wacha wortha?
Duh Cards, media, fans are whining that Lester put something on the ball. Yawwwwn. It’s for grip. Bring back the rosin bag behind the pitching mounds.
I just threw out Stanley’s name as banter as an alternative for Shiraldi and Oil Can.
Is that like 9 tenths of a miracle? ;^)
Much ado about nothing...
Dumb and Dumber are starting up...game time must be close.
All Wacha Wacha Wacha Wacha....
Yep. What can you do? It’s another reason I want a sweep; no more ‘D’-level announcers.
Just checking in ...did they show Sweet Liberal James singing?
And stuck listening to that liberal peacenik - James Taylor's - wimpy rendition of our National Anthem. Grr!
OK Fox just showed a quick clip of the first pitch, but we didn't see it live.
I don’t know who sang what. Who is Sweet Liberal James?
