Victorino shouldn’t be getting into it with that home plate umpire. We can’t afford to have the Flyin’ Hawaiian tossed out of the game...

Too bad the winner of the league championship can’t poach players from the losing team for the world series.
Red Sox could snatch up Scherzer, Verlander, and Sanchez for an unstopable starting pitching staff.

Yep. I wish he could bottle 1% of his passion and give it to that irma Buchholtz.

This is the point of the game where I mash up a couple anti-depressants, mix them into a glass of aged single malt, then chase that with a Sam Adams.
Later...

I’m joking!
If this game is indicative of STL’s play, we’re looking at a sweep.

That would be awesome! It doesn't seem right that such great talents as Scherzer, Verlander and Sanchez are sitting idle tonight.
I'll take any of those for Clay Buchholz, by the way...

If this game is indicative of STLs play, were looking at a sweep. No, it's not. This is *not* the 2004 Cardinals team (Current Cards Manager Mike Matheny was catcher for the Cards in '04).
Wait 'til you see 22-year-old Michael Wacha pitch tomorrow night...

We’ll see. This game, should the score stand, might psychologically scar STL.

Tiger pitching was really all that carried them from August onward. Its really pretty amazing that they even got to the ALCS let alone made it to 6 games. Martinez, Hunter, and Peralta might have been some decent hitters to bring on board for the WS.
Home field advantage is the final Jim Leyland contribution. We hate to see him go but he refused to sign a contract in the last off season so we knew he was thinking about retirement.
