The other question is, who will score more points, Denver or Baylor?
Dallas is an average team.
Various “power rankings” have them a 15, 18, 17 etc.
You can’t get more “average” than that.
Unfortunately, they have been doing that for two or three years now! They have more come from AHEAD losses in the last three years than any other dang team.
Our failure is more on the defensive side of the ball than anywhere. We need some shutdown corners and more than one person providing pressure on that defensive line (Ware).
Until we can get a consistent play on the defensive side of the ball, it won’t matter how many points, yard and time the offense uses/posts. UGH!
I agree. I’m not saying Denver isn’t a good team but their schedule is soft and they play none of the top teams in the NFC. The only only two teams that might give them trouble are the Chiefs and Colts on the schedule
Claiborne looks like a wasted pick.
I can agree with that. I think the Chiefs defense is their best hope against Denver, because they don’t have the offense to keep pace with Peyton.
I think the Broncs-Colts will be another Broncs-Cowboys game. I figure that the last team with the ball will win that game too.
Sure, and the College ranking system will probably push Texas A&M out of the top 10 and Baylor is sitting at 15 or so - I don’t take a whole lot of heart into those “ranking systems.”
Again, I am not saying they are a great team, but they have played much better than their current power ranking.
The two teams Dallas has beaten: The Winless Giants (who almost won the game), and St Louis.
“Ill take the Jags and the points. 28 is just too much to give. The Broncos will take their foot off the offensive gas at some point, the Jags will score some BS garbage time points and cover.”
I’m a big Broncs fan, having watched every game since 1975, and I agree with your analysis. Plus, two additional factors. One: from now on their opponents are going to up the level of their game just so they DON’T get blown out, even if they can’t win, and Two: Dallas demonstrated the Broncos have a very poor defensive backfield and can not get pressure on the quarterback unless they rush at least five.
Your opinion, and some cash, and a trip to Vegas can make you some good money if you’re correct. Good luck!
And Dallas blew out the rams and the power rankings have the rams two to three places ABOVE Dallas.
That is why I don’t put too much stock in those systems. Two or three years ago, the Giants were power ranked at 8 or 9 and went on to win the Super Bowl. about six weeks later.
As I said, if you’re correct, go make some real $$. Vegas bookies are waiting to take your call.
I don’t see that Colts thinking that way at all, I think they knew Manning had a few good years left, just as the Niners knew Joe Montana still had a few good years left when they let him go.
It’s a matter of choosing to prepare for the future.
Haven’t been paying much attention to the NFL this year....but apparently Peyton’s neck has healed.
I would say so. He’s lost some velocity, but like a fastball pitcher who has lost a few mph on his fastball, he’s developed the other aspects of his game to compensate for it.
Twenty-eight? Hmmm....
We have yet to see how the Broncos pass-happy attack works in November and December. Plus, you can’t give up 48 points a game every week.
You can only beat the team that’s in front of you each week. I agree five games against at best middle-of-the-pack opponents doesn’t make your season. Nonetheless, the Broncos are on a helluva run (my fantasy team is loving it!).
I’m guessing 99 to 3 for 102.
Typical ESPN sucking up to Mannings. The line indicates both how good Denver has been AND EQUALLY how bad Jacksonville has been.
