Thank you Cottonball, still nothing yet, however this past 3 weeks has been filled with interviews and I’m not giving up.
There are TWO types of EBT accounts: There is a FOOD account, and a CASH account. With the food account, you CANNOT get cash back. With the cash account, it is meant for those who are getting ‘full ride’ welfare, and you were not supposed to be able to get cash back.
Apparently, that may have changed. No mention of this has been made in my state (washington), so this is news to me.
You can use EBT to pay Postage at the Post Office.
My Late Mother always said, “you help people who CAN’T help themselves, not people who WON’T help themselves”.
Her Sister, my Late Aunt was blinded by Glaucoma in her early 20’s. She worked for years sewing Garments in what we would call a Sweat Shop and when she lost her job she went “on the Dole” for six months until she got another Job.
My Father had to literally drag her out of her Apartment at the bequest of my Mother and take her to the Welfare Office kicking and screaming.
She got $10 a week and was embarrassed having to take it.
Our Family couldn’t do much to help since we had next to nothing back then. We all lived in squalor to put it mildly. As they used to say, we didn’t have a Pot to Piss in or a Window to throw it through.
Nowadays people just help themselves to Taxpayer Money without a care in the world. Self respect is in short supply and these same people call others greedy for wanting to keep what they earn through their hard work rather than hand it over to the Government to waste as they please.

It went back up from $189 to $194 a while ago for me.
Have to reapply for Medicaid which due to paperwork errors and my recovering from my surgery caused them to kick me off last fall. Missed a bunch of doctor appointments including 2 of my 6 month cancer checkups so far. My vision is degrading without my medications and my memory and energy levels are horrible without iron infusions and B 12 shots. Untreated severe sleep apnea and nerve damage spreading. My left arm and hand have been numb since before Christmas.
Had to get a magnifying glass to fill out my renewal forms for the food stamps. Already issued for June but who knows after that.
They had a lot of people cut off SNAP this year after 3 months if they didn’t meet certain requirements.
Still haven’t applied for SSI.
I still don’t buy a bunch of junk or high price meat and seafood.
