And hubby and I have struggled all my life for what little we have.

But the big thing you have, that nobody can take away, you can't ever replace with stuff. Self-respect. Good for you and your husband!!

I saw a TV ‘reality’ show a couple years back about Bruce Jenner’s boys - who are living with their mom who is married to a Hollywood producer...

I could not believe what a bucnh lf spoiled rotten brats these kids were

He told them to stop spending money and that night they spent $700 on their friends for sushi... Good thing he had cancelled their credit cars.

then the spoiled bastards were told they had to get a job abd start paying $1000 a month ‘rent’ to live there (keep in mind they were 27 and 29 at the time) and so the morons held a CAR WASH in front of their house with their friends... and rich people are so stupid, one car pulled up and asked how much for the car wash, and one of the brat asked him how much the care was worth- and when he said $60,000 the brat said ok were gonna have to get 60 dollars for this car... AND THE DUMMY PAID IT

They must have done $10,000 damage to the landscaping with the cars driving over it

I am amazed the producer husband guy dindt lose his mind

And the wife is a major bimbo, she goes out there and helps them do the car wash and strips to her wet t-shirt...

I think the producer agreed to this show to save his life- i think the kids would have pulled a menendez brothers on him

Everything we have been through is what my husband calls ‘character building’. My brothers are pretty worthless with them calling on my poor mother to bail them out their entire lives- and she has. Needless to say, one has never held a job more than six months at a tune and has paid almost nothing into ss and certainly has no retirement saved.

And you are right. We have earned everything we have. And we appreciate all that we do have- as well as all that we DON’T!!

You should see the show on John Gotti’s sons. I caught maybe ten minutes of it once- they dressed ghetto, flashing money and just being punks. If it weren’t so funny, it would have been sad. Just a universal embarrassment on the human condition, really. In my opinion, of course.

Used to work with a 20 something doofus. One day he came home from work to find a note, a check and his retired parents gone. They had paid the rent to the end of the year, given him a couple of grand and told him he was on his own as they were “running away.”

Have no idea what became of him, but he was a standing joke at work for years after.

Well that went surprisingly well...

I didnt have to say a word

When I got home everyone was cleaning house, and I listend from my office as they asked wach other what else needed to be done and each volunteered to go do whatever was next...

they didnt finish (and I am NOT letting them off the hook for one days effort)

But I am hopeful that by this weekend it will be better.

I even bought groceries and told them “food for the week is in the trunk- you should put it away before it spoils because that is all there is going to be for the week”.
(I checked later to make sure, and the refrigerated and frozen items were all in the right place.)

That is because last week someone left the bread and milk on the table opened and I left it there and ALL of them walked right past it for 2 days and I told them that was the stuff for the week no matter if it was rock hard or spoiled or not.

One daughter cried for an hour that she needed the internet or she would fail calculus... Until I said I would call the calculus teacher tomorrow to talk to her. (and I did, I am just waiting for a call back)
