Only a crime when a Conservative does it; lib-dems do it all the time, in multiple locations/states.

There are 1400 hiding in the bucket. I haven’t seen any on the shelves here in months. The kids are getting ready for another season of 4H shooting sports.

I haven’t seen Buckets O’ Bullets since Scout Camp in the late 50s, when the NRA Instructors brought them in 5gal spackle pails, for us to divvy-up.

The last one I had I got at age 12 and was about quart size.

Back in the late-50s, the local sporting goods stores would donate .22LR ammo for our summer camp NRA Competition. Dad used to get me bricks/500 at Sears, to go with my Mossberg 144LS & 4x Bushnell Scope, for real, real cheap.

You got scopes on your BSA rifles?
I remember back then, and my back then wasn’t as back then as your back then, hehehe, we just had iron sights and it was 5¢ a shot. And MoSkeet was considered a luxury.
To: Clint N. Suhks
For competition, we had to use the stock Lyman Peep Sights, which came on the unit.
I added the 4x Bushell scope to get out to 75-100yds, since we only shot 50’, 75’ & 100’ NRA Matches. I later used the scope to hunt rabbit and squirrel for dinner, at camp.
Now, Dad uses it to shoot groundhogs out of his 2nd story office window, at home. He’s bagged almost 300 in 29yrs. It’s a 3/4” tube, so I bought a new 4x scope with 1.25” tube and larger eyepieces for him.
Freedom Armory is cleaning it and fitting the scope. My Beowulf is down there, too, waiting for one of the Viridian laser/light units and bevel mount for the Pic rail, so it doesn’t interfere with the new SigSauer illum scopes I got for it and the Henry .357 Mag ‘Big Boy’ units.
The other A3 Carbine AR-15 I took down, is all retrofitted and smacking sweet with accessories.
Dad also got a S&W 642-2 .38 Spl concealed hammer for his CCW. The 1911s’ and 9mms’ slides were too much for his 89yr old hands.

What’s the trigger like on the S&W?
It’s a nice gun but the sights suck.

8-lb looong pull. I'm going to bring him down for some evening instruction, and daytime practice over the winter months, and get a new front sight modified for it. No real rear sights on a 2" snubby, so the gunsmith will see what can be retro-fitted. It's got CTC Red Laser Grips.

Oh - you’re good to go with the laser then. Just put some bright fingernail polish or something on the front sight as a backup.

We had the peep sights on the rifle team in college. I only did it for a couple years because you had to join ROTC your junior year.

80 yard hits. Pretty damn good.
I’ve never seen a hickok video where his targets were painted yellow before.
