The church near me used to ring for meals and didn’t bother me at all. After the church quit the bells, a neighbor put in ringing bells outside which was a major annoyance.
Maybe if they didn’t have them on loudspeaker it wouldn’t be as disruptive.
The one near me rings on the quarter-hour, but I’m not sure it rings all night. I know it rings AT night, but it might be only until 10.
I lived right down from our local Catholic church and they rang at 6 am and pm then 5 min before each Mass and at the beginning of each Mass. I and everyone around enjoyed the sound of the bells. I moved a several blocks away and can still hear them but not very loudly - I miss hearing them the way I used to and yes, they were amplified.
Bet the church was there before him. Maybe he should have moved away from the church to near an airport.
Clock striking the 1/4 hours?
By the intercession of St. Paulinus of Nola, bishop and confessor, may you be released from the grip of avarice and self-aggrandizement.
