In the 1960s, Robertson, now 66, was the starting quarterback at Louisiana Tech for two seasons ahead of Terry Bradshaw. His teammates and a coach recall him as a talented, outdoors-obsessed character who walked away from his final year of eligibility to spend more time hunting and fishing, but had the talent to play in the NFL
Terry Bradshaw said Phil Robertson had the best arm he’d ever seen.

"Miley (a stupid name if there ever was one)"
Wikipedia lists "Destiny Hope Cyrus" as her birth name.
Either name, she still put on one of the skankiness performances I've ever seen.
And, what IS the tongue all about? Just another notch up from skankiness?

I think it’s a tossup as to how members of the 3rd generation of Robertsons will turn out. They have a lot of advantages, starting with strong families and good moral formation, but even in such cases, there’s always been a certain amount of teenage running-wild. (Their grandparents, for example.) The introduction of nationwide celebrity and the opportunities it opens for young adults may result in some unhappy and highly public trainwrecks. I sincerely hope not, though!
Another positive element is that they were wealthy before they were celebrities, so there’s been no introduction of sudden riches to destabilize the families.

I don't know why 70times7 is taking flack for his comment. After observing that there is a difference between ignorance and stupidity - which is certainly true - he specified that he believed the members of the Robertson family were neither ignorant nor stupid. To wit:
Ignorant and stupid are two very different things. I do not believe any of them are either one.
If couldn't stop myself from being excessively literal, I would observe that it's likely that there are many subjects of which various members of the Robertson family are ignorant, just as there are for every living human being, even Thomas Sowell. We all don't know much more than we know.

You may be missing the point but I noticed that you posted the following in Italics as if it were the original quote, it is not.
Ignorant and stupid are two very different things. I do not believe any of them are either one.
I thought the original was humorous, the correction is not.

Yes, Miley is homely, but she does possess, like Britney Spears (remember her) a sophomorically sexy body. I'm looking as little as I can but that bod appears well on its way to middle age to me.
As a person on the outskirts of "elderly" I can probably say that.

what IS the tongue all about? All kinds of demonic rituals involve a darting and/or protruding tongue.

As a person on the outskirts of "elderly" I can probably say that I'm in that neighborhood myself. I'm 68, to a person 10 or more years my junior, they probably think I am already there. To a person 10 or more years my senior, I am a whipper snapper.

Redneck doesn't mean "dumb"... Yes, I know. That was my point.
Phil is my absolute favorite on the show. Calm, measured, wise, but not in any particular hurry to place himself on display. I don't think of him as a curmudgeon; I don't recall ever seeing him flustered or upset, even when his old chair was sold he took it in stride. I particularly enjoyed seeing him and Kay renew their vows.

I knew it was a typo, get the chip off your shoulder. I make typos too but they are rarely humorous, yours was.
I wasn’t laughing at bad grammar but at a funny typo.
