“What a terrible thing to have lost one’s mind. Or not to have a mind at all. How true that is.”
—Dan Quayle
hahahahaha!!
“See, Pat Robertson said something stupid too,” posted the defensive Catholic.
I think this whole thing is much ado about nothing.
I hate this guy. Bashing Catholics? You jerk!!!! He has caused more crap for Evangelicals than anything positive. He is worthless to all Christians.
Came across the 700 club as that was about the only decent thing on after watching Idiocracy which come to find out is really a documentary on the here and now.
Even as a Catholic, I would watch 700 club 25 years ago when it was inspirational, but Pat has turned into a loon. I just can’t listen to him anymore.
Pat Robertson has always been outspoken and often controversial. His brain is increasingly disengaged from his tongue as he slips into his dotage, and views that even he once declined to verbalize are getting a public airing.
And it ain’t pretty.
He’s an imperfect, fallen sinner just as we all are. I’m surprised at just how malleable he perceives certain things to be, he doesn’t come across as being all that anchored by scripture, a problem several reputedly Christian figures in the public eye share, including Rick Warren and the current pope, Francis.
Actually, if you read Acts you will see that it was a vision of Peter that led to this change.
Robertson is just another liberal globalist shill. His 700 Cult is to Christianity like Detroit is to sound fiscal policy
I also wonder what his opinion is on eating cheeseburgers. These appear to be prohibited by Ex. 23:19; Ex. 34:26; Deut. 14:21.
It would be a waste. just like picking squash before it gets big enough to make a meal.
I do not believe it has anything to do with eating meat and drinking milk together.
As far as eating pork, the Bible says it is unclean for the Jews, but if we can be forgiven for all of our other abominations i guess we will probably be forgiven for that also.
Leviticus 15:19-33,
I believe it was considered being ungodly back then, most Christians today would say it was ungodly, the others would just say bloodhound.
Yes i would say that Pat Robertson should retire.
Somebody needs to give this guy the hook.
Pat Robertson needs to be put out to pasture. Has he turned into a DEMOCRAT??
What’s his FR name?
He’s wrong. NFP methods exclude sexual intercourse during menstruation. If you’re genuinely interested in NFP, the basic methods are the Billings Ovulation Method, the Creighton Method, and the Sympto-Thermal Method.
He’s senile as heck. Why is he still on television? Starving children in Appalachia was a socialist cause decades ago. I guess it seems like yesterday to Pat.
Keep yourself and your faith with Jesus and the Bible and you won’t ever lose it or be confused or discouraged by senile old codgers who have egos too big to know it is time to retire or the liberal entertainment shysters dialing for mega dollars. Just observe the circus go by and don’t accept it has anything to do with our faith. I bet Pat is driving people in that organization crazy. I would not be feeding them money right now.
We live in interesting times. : (
May I ask where you got that statistic about "most Protestants"? Sounds to me like you really don't know much about "most Protestants" and who they "listen" to.
By the way, I am Protestant and I don't like being lumped into this group you have defined. Those of us with discernment see Pat Robinson for who he is, DON'T LISTEN to him, and feel sorry for him and a bit ashamed that he continues to appear to speak for Christianity. He is just a human with many faults (as we all are).
I would like to add that as a Christian, I do not look to men or women as my example of who I want to strive to be more like or listen to advice on life choices from.... but instead look to Jesus Christ. I can tell you that I am still far from that goal I strive for, but never-the-less keeping my eye always towards the true Savior instead of false prophets or as I suspect in Robinson's case, prophets who start out meaning well, but loose focus somewhere along the way.
Televangelists: the pro-wrestlers of organized religion.
“Morgana, you wrote: “ It bothers me that most protestants will actually listen to him”.
May I ask where you got that statistic about “most Protestants”? Sounds to me like you really don’t know much about “most Protestants” and who they “listen” to”
Well being that most Catholics are listening to Mother Angelica over at EWTN and not the crap Pat Robertson is spewing out then yes I would say “most protestants”. ALSO The 700 Club is a show by protestants for protestants. Now granted not all protestants watch it, therefor I sad “most protestants”.
Okay, thanks for posting this reminder that I need to call today to cancel my monthly donation to CBN. I’ll be sure to cite this, along with the transgender thing, as the reason.
Hmmm.
Many children are born with birth defects that need surgical correction, or they're born premature and need special care.
Are we playing God when we step in and undo/alter what has been made? Did God will these conditions? If so, is it playing God to change these things? What about doomed children born with uncorrectable conditions? Do we just let them suffer? I don't know.
It's a deeply philosophical question. On one extreme, you have the eugenicists that believe they know what works and doesn't work. They're brutally confident.
On the other extreme you have people that believe nature should take its course, that any assistance outside the most basic care goes against God's will or against nature.
It seems to me contraception is somewhere in the reasonable middle.
