So he’ll be competing directly against his protege George Noory on Coast to Coast. They’re both great.
His wife died. He was a wreck.
He is still aired as ‘Somewhere In Time’ on the Coast To Coast AM show on weekends. He did some really interesting interviews over the time he was Coast To Coast AM from 1 to 5 eastern. Additionally, he was able to make even the kooks seem worth interviewing while holding them in a sense of contempt for their kookery. His voice is so recognizable. Ever after he quit smoking, that deep baritone comes through clearly.
Totally!!
One time some really out there weirdo was talking and Art's "Oh really." was particularly exquisite.
Attention (Space) Aliens... Art Bell is back...
I was on my phone, up there, so was very brief:
Art had a son from a brief previous marriage. This son was maybe 14 years old, or so, and a homosexual male teacher with HIV raped this son of Art. It stayed quiet, but this homo teacher guy later started molesting his son quite a bit. Finally it became known, and this homo teacher got busted and had huge legal troubles on his hands...
Totally separate to this and for reasons that are unclear some White Supremacists made up some B.S. about Art being some kind of child molester. Actually it’s fairly common for nuts to call up his show, making crazy stuff up, but these guys were constantly calling his show, trying to slander Art in this way to his own fans. They were at this for...months, I guess.
Now those two things happening at the same time is pretty bad, but also another group of people started spreading the false word that Art hated Phillipinos (this in spite of the fact that his wife at that time was part Phillipina, and the younger wife he would later marry was 100% Phillipina). And no numerous phillipino people were angry, saying they were going to kill Art (apparently this has since been cleared up).
Added to the above 3 troubles came news that his wife’s bad case of asthma struck in the night when the pair were away for one of their RV trips —she died in the night, unable even to wake Art to tell him she needed help.
She died.
So suddenly Art chucked it all, and without warning stopped his show. For months..? He literally said goodbye without warning DURING his show, triggering a crisis among the higher-ups.
He came back briefly some time later, but then married a much younger Phillipina lady, moved to Makati (that’s a part of Manila) and continued the show for a bit, there in Manila.
Later Art quit totally, when I think his new wife learned the pair would be expecting a baby.
Bell leaves, then returns? I smell a conspiracy.
And then moved back. He and his family are in Pahrump

about and I listen almost every day to CTC.
