Well, a nice, fat wild turkey hen just wandered by my rear window. So, I guess I have to join you in that bottle.

Some crazy gourmets do that with the flakes.

I’m so sorry to read about your Chan. We lost Cinderella on Saturday, so I am especially sympathetic to the worrying over a sick pooch.

Hey tiger. I’m counting blessings this morning. The spouse drove to Dallas Saturday, in one shot, and 20 miles out a brick was thrown through the windshield. He is fine but it shattered and there was glass all over the passenger seat. Getting it replaced tomorrow. His mom is awaiting surgery tonight.

A for you. We have turkeys around here too. I haven’t seen chicks yet, although I heard they had them several weeks ago.

Sorry to hear that. How old is she?

It is a year for dog problems, that is for sure. My little one was recommended for more surgery to stabilize his other retina and we are thinking about it since big dog needs heartworm treatment too. These problems are not preventable by the time we get them. Those wheels were already in motion.

We lost Missy a few months back. 14 1/2 was a ripe old age. We’ve now got our new puppy, Buffy. She is a handful.

Thanks, SG. She was 10. This is the first time now in 20 years we are dogless.

We lost both of our collie brothers 6 months apart last year. I still miss them. These replacement dogs are not the same but they needed good homes. I would have preferred to start over with puppies and not adult rescues with their problems but they kind of fell into our hands and we knew we could provide for them.

Ours made it to 13, which is pretty old for a big breed.

I’m so sorry to hear that-I hope there is a better outcome from treatment for Chan-that is way, way too short a lifespan...

That will be so nice for you - I lived for so long with my daughter so far away and I am cherishing these days of having her nearby and our Sunday family meals.

Rescue cats are bad enough, I don’t think I could handle a rescue dog. I applaud you and anyone who does.

I know we’ll get another, but not right away. It’s going to take awhile for coolbreeze to get over her loss.
