They say Hawaii is supposed to be the safest from natural disasters.

Just so long as burning lava flows aren't your idea of a natural disaster.

"Safe places" can be affluent suburbs, which often aren't so far away from dangerous cities, and won't be safe in the zombie apocalypse..

If you want to go further out in the the country, watch out for meth-head tweakers and other desperadoes.

Lol, this is rich. Looking at your postings I see YOU live in northern New England. You have made the choice to live in NH.....the state that I’m talking about. And this is the worst suggestion you have ever seen in 14 years ! Really ?

Ye gads...that part of Red Hampshire (also known as East Vermont for obvious reasons) really sucks...a mish-mash of foul-mouthed morally-bankrupt elitists from California, Massachusetts and New York. Dartmouth? The clowns that can't tell the difference between a heart attack and anxiety? (Personal experience.) Cheap housing??? Compared to Manhattan, perhaps. Rentals $1000-1500...IF anything is available. You might be able to purchase a bungalow-sized residence near Dartmouth for a cool $450,000. Then there are the back-breaking property taxes... Good people? Yeah...if you like obnoxious wine and brie liberals wearing Che t-shirts. Beautiful woods...just watch for ticks; lyme disease can be a bitch...of course; many of the 'doctors' in Red Hampshire don't think such a disease even exists. I'm sure Steyn loves it...but you would need his income to get by. You like it? G-d love ya, but for the rest of us...don't even THINK about it. (Keep in mind Boston, Springfield and Hartford with ALL their gangs are just a short, beautiful drive up Interstate 91...they'll be along when TSHTF.)

Actually; it was NOT my choice...it was one of those tragic in-law things, for which my wife has already repented. I am out of here in a few months. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Yet you still live in NH.....too funny. If it’s so bad you can split. Good luck finding a better place. If you know of one let me know. There’s a lot of affordable housing in NH, and even more so north of Concord. I don’t like how much the state has changed in the last 20 years any more than I suspect you do; but it is what it is. The whole nation is falling apart. Rural northern New England is as good as anyplace IMO when TSHTF.

Someplace where there were no hurricanes, no floods, no eathquakes, no tornados, no major blizzards, no black or Hispanic gangs, no black flash mobs, low chance of becoming a murder statistic, no muslim terrorists, insignificant traffic accidents, hidden from government murderers, relatively low chance of coming in contact with deadly bacterial or viral diseases,.......etc
