Like you I have driven a Chevy all my life.

I need a new truck so I went to look at the Fords, as I had pledged to myself.

Sticker shock..sticker shock!!! And they won’t budge on their price.

My new truck purchase is temporarily delayed until I can reconcile myself to the price.

I’ve got a 2007 Expedition, best vehicle I’ve ever owned.

Sticker price on this truck was $38.7 and it was on sale on the dealership’s website for almost 2 weeks for $25.7. I kept eyeballing it before I spontaneously hauled my butt down and purchased. It doesn’t have have the navigation system or back-up cam (who cares I say) but pretty much everything else. Lots of chrome too.

I’m happy as I felt I got a good deal considering what trucks are going for nowadays.

Return it. Ford borrowed 5.9 billion from us in 2009.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/joannmuller/2011/09/19/ford-looks-hypocritical-in-new-anti-bailout-commercial/

Ford didn’t file bankruptcy or get bailed out by Uncle Sam, but didn’t it receive $5.9 billion in low-cost government loans in 2009 to overhaul its factories and bring out more fuel-efficient technology? What would have happened to Ford if Congress hadn’t authorized taxpayer money to fund that $25 billion Energy Department program during a moment of crisis for the industry?

Ford credit was sucking on the tit too..

The honest truth is you really can’t buy a truck from any manufacturer that didn’t take, beg, or borrow our money.

Bought mine 1 month ago, F150 XLT package, 4X4 just like yours except all white.
Traded in my 15 year old Dodge Ram quad cab for the F150.
Really like the Ford.

Nice! You can NEVER go wrong with a Ford truck. I have owned f-150’s, f-250’s, and f-350’s. They have all been awesome.

Good for you Cajun! I actually wanted the oxford white really bad but knew I wouldn’t find the deal I got so I settled on the metallic gray.

Like it! Proud Explorer owner since 1994 - and only two of them. I do admit to a mid-life crisis I have to look after though:

Bought a new F150 last sept. best truck I ever had, if you wait until august or so, they will likely have employee prizing I got $16000,0 off plus $1000, off from Ford as a regular costumer and $1000 off for Costco membership, sticker prize was $50500 and paid $36500 less trade in plus tax right now I think it was the best deal I ever made
good luck

I am in the process of wearing out my 4th Ford truck over the past 40 years. Stay away from the 6.0 Liter diesels. They are generally ABSOLUTELY BULLET PROOF!! The Ranger I had survived having BOTH of my then teen-age sons driving it. I drove it for another 10 years afterward. My current truck that I drive daily is an 04 F-150 with 90k miles. The only thing that has been done to it is regular maintenance, not problem one.
I have a 77 F-250 FWD that I rebuilt after over 250k miles of very hard use, including the kids driving it. I had a 67 F-100 (former construction truck) that got me through college without a single problem.
Basically, you have to be DemocRAT mega stupid to break a Ford truck!

BTW I am in the same pickle. My 05 Chev is pushing 310,000 miles and it seems like everyday something new goes wrong with it. (I mean it is 200,000 miles past expected service life).. Ford is dragging their feet with the new Transit (not the little connect. it’s a replacement for the econoline) but the bail out/loans thing bugs me.

I’ll likely replace it with a Benz diesel van.
