I remember making 11 on #16....a lot of the rest I’ve sort of blocked out. I also hit it 6 feet on #17 - right behind the pin, but couldn’t even think of trying to make it because I knew I was on the cut line. Had to tap it sideways then make an 8 footer coming back up for 3.

I can’t blame Southern Hills for my suckage at golf. But it was an unforgiving course.

His shot at 17 was absolutely amazing. I was standing maybe 15 feet away and he hooked it after clearing the trees and rolled it to within six feet of the cup.
And then he missed that six-foot putt that would have tied him with Green. 17 is a funky little par-4 but he had the birdie in his hands and let it go.

the heat was brutal during that tournament.They had to water the greens mid-play to keep them from dying. And they would water the crowds as well. Quite welcome by all.
