There are a lot of crazy Russian experiments...some actually paid off...most didn’t.
If you dig into the Chernobyle accident, you eventually discover that too...was an experiment...over the diesel engine that would commonly be used to bring the plant down to a stable non-op situation when the recommended maintenance had to occur. Few newspapers ever bring this, or grasp why a diesel engine experiment was the cause for the nuclear accident. Just a crazy experiment...approved at national level.

Thanks DogByte6RER.The female chimpanzees were repeatedly injected with human male sperm, but none became pregnant... In 1927, discouraged by his first efforts, Ivanov put together a plan to inject male chimpanzee sperm into human female volunteers... in 1930, when the political mood turned against him. He was arrested and sent to what is now Kazakhstan to work at a veterinary station until he died of a stroke two years later. Some say that at least one woman was injected with chimpanzee sperm, but that no pregnancy resulted. This, however, is another rumor. To all -- please ping me to other topics which are appropriate for the GGG list. |

The experiment apparently proceeded in 1979 as evidenced by this kiss between Soviet Premiere Leonid Brezhnev and East German General Secretary Erich Honecker. Which is the ape and which is the human? I cannot tell.

Yogi Berraski and Abe Vigodavitch, if you want their real names:
the love children of rooskis and hirsute Siberian simians.

I remember watching a show about this. Some women actually died from the IVF of human/ape hybrids.
