Ohno!!! Not the Square Head???

Poor little tyke. He will never fit in with those round headed kids....

*nyuk-nyuk-nyuk*

I hear the thunder in the background, so I’m thinking it’s time I headed for the Blanket Show.

May tonight be a relatively peaceful night for me. With only a small number of trips to the Euphemism.

Pat told them we never wash our clothes.

I can't stop laughing!

The Movie Reviews

"Jack the Giant Slayer"

With Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane, Bill Nighy, Ewan McGregor, Eddie Marsan, Ewen
Bremner, Christopher Fairbank, Warwick Davis

2013, Rated PG-13 for intense scenes of fantasy action violence, some frightening images and brief language, 114 minutes

This is, of course, Jack and the Beanstalk revisited. Jack (Hoult), a poor farm boy, whose uncle sends him to town to sell
their horse and wagon to buy materials to repair their house. He meets a monk who trades him magic beans for the horse.
His uncle thinks he was swindled, and throws the beans into the dirt where a rainstorm waters them, and they begin to grow
up to the sky carrying Jack's poor farm house containing the kingdom's princess (Tomlinson), who was out on a lark and
sought shelter from the storm. And it goes on and gets VERY BIG from there. It was quite entertaining.
  ★★★★

"Gangster Squad"

With Josh Brolin, Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Nick Nolte, Emma Stone, Michael Peña, Anthony Mackie, Holt McCallany,
Robert Patrick, Giovanni Ribisi, Mireille Enos

2013, Rated R for strong violence and language, 113 minutes

Based on true events in the life of Mickey Cohen (Penn), a brutal, murderous crime boss from Chicago. He plans to take
over the entire western third of the country and run all the gambling, mob activity, prostitution, shakedowns, graft, and
corruption. A small band of five LAPD cops (Brolin, Gosling, Peña, Patrick, and Ribisi) is recruited by the police chief
(Nolte) to harass the mobster and try to run him out of town. Just when it seems that all is lost, there is a good turn of
events. ***Spoiler Alert*** The best part of the movie for me was when Sean Penn got the snot kicked out of him.
  ★★★★

Ah, so...

That saying on a different graphic was on the FReepathon thread yesterday.

I do think it’s just great, though.

I think we wanted to see “Jack the Giant Slayer.” I’ll have to request it.

No cake or ice cream. I got all Pat’s laundry done, so I’m ready for James now.

I had a wonderful time with the visiting baby. He helped me with Pat’s laundry.

Another night of massive, wicked storms last night, this time, a tree fell across power lines to the east of here and we were without power for over three hours.

The debris in the yards and roadways really told the ferocity of the storms.

I finally had to go for a ride long about midnight, just so I could cool off a little. It was eerie to drive through dark streets but see lights on just across the street from where we live.

Our power was restored long about 0200, but there are still about 6000 people in the valley that have been without power since Friday night.

That does NOT look like The Stiggy!

Scary, though...

It’s very good. If you like Bill Nighy, as I do very much, you will find him in “The General,” the giant with two heads. He is the smart one.

I didn’t recognize him until the credits rolled. It was because the giant’s face isn’t his, but the voice is.

James is home from camp, and his wash is on. Now I need a shower before I dress for church.

I wanted to go to church today, but last nights’ pyrotechnics and ensuing power outage has left me feeling somewhat *blah*

There is no breeze, but the sun is behind the clouds, and the humidity is up. All in all, it looks like I will do as little as possible today.

I’m not surprised you are blah, I would be too!

The byos are supposed to clean up their room today!
