Nah...the dog cheats.
:)
I was just trying to help the poor man who’s dog was shot. So many wondered why he was tied up.
Although ‘crating’ is the usual nowadays, with the ready availability of such things, it wasn’t always so.
“Back in the day”, people might attempt house training or other behavior modification [often for the safety of the dog, in the owner’s absence] by attaching a swivel-hook leash to a swivel bolt mounted on the wall.
It’s not unheard of at all.
Happily, crates, kennels and ‘play pens’ are very common now.
If tying up a dog inside is the only way a person has to keep it safe from harm, it’s not a problem.
Sadly for this poor dog’s owner, it didn’t work.
“Harm” kicked in the door and shot the dog in cold blood.
How anyone can possibly defend this unconstitutional act of brutality is beyond me.

They sure are. Every luxury imaginable for our furry friends.
Bwahahhahaha!!!
How anyone can possibly defend this unconstitutional act of brutality is beyond me.
Beyond me, too.
But again — that’s a separate issue to be discussed. It doesn’t matter if the dog was tied up or not in terms of the illegitimacy of the action committed here. The cops were wrong. Whether the dog was tied up or not, whether the owner was home or not, whether the dog was a Chi, Great Dane, bully breed, or some other breed...None of that is the point, but sadly that seems to have escaped the notice of some here — who want to make any and all of the above “the point”.
You forgot the reasoning “Oh, I don’t have a bully breed. My dog is a ___________, so he’s safe” coupled with “I haven’t done anything to bring the cops to my door, therefore I’m safe” thinking....
What the hell is wrong with you?
When you are up to your ass in alligators, it is difficult to remember that your initial objective was to drain the swamp. Cops gone bad and killed an innocent victims dog.
:))
Some breeds should simply not exist. Show me an actual use for the breed. It’s like the Piping Plover, we insist on it’s existence despite it nesting on the coast during hurricane season.
Tell me about it.
The people at the local pet stores *love* to see us come in.
The dogs pick out 3 [or 5] of their “most favorite toys ever!” and I don’t have the heart to put any of them back.
People ask how I stay thin...well, I have *dogs*.
I can’t afford to eat everything in sight.
;D
Turns out it’s raining so the carcass hunt is a no-go.
I have a “spineless snake” helping me FReep, instead.
[and no, I’m not ‘poking him with a stick’]
;D
They are a multi-puporse dog and can excel in all the functions you have listed.
My God you're on the wrong site. Show me an actual use for a passenger car that can go over 60 mph. Show me an actual use for red persian carpets. Show me an actual use for a cigar, or a 2010 Bordeaux, or an Armalite AR-10, or toilets that flush instead of being a hole in the ground.
You and the Free Market are strangers.
When it comes to dogs there should be a purpose for their existence, like chickens, cattle, goats, etc.
