I’ve heard that, as well. I’ve tried to explain that marriage gives you legal protections like inheritance rights, court backed division of shared property and alimony, something living together does not.
And breaking up with the baby daddy moving out hurts just as much emotionally as a divorce, but you have fewer rights when it happens without the legal protection of marriage.
I’ve also heard the WTF statement from more than one girl that she won’t marry because the he has a guaranteed right to visit the kid afterward. If he’s gone, she wants him totally gone - and divorced Dads have more legal rights to enforce visitation and get custody than “baby daddy who moved out and might not be the dad”.
I know a single man who adopted. What is his job situation like? Lets not go there. Either way he adopted.
i do not think it’s creepy... i got married when i was 31, good career... had already owned my own home... i am thinking that if i had been 6 years older, with no prospects, i might have for even one second considered having a child on my own... however, i would not have chosen that... i already knew before i even met my husband that i wanted to homeschool any children i might have and could not see doing that on my own... but honestly, i probably would have considered it for even the shortest amount of time...
my husband and i ended up adopting our children...
men are such pr8cks, it is ore peaceful to do it without their my way or the highway bullsheet
some of these axel men have 23 kids.
I totally agree, the divorce laws are a complete travesty
Heh. Tell that to the many people who advised me to put the baby up for adoption because I would be selfish to raise a child without a husband at my side. Several friends, relatives, medical personnel and social workers in the hospital urged me to leave my baby there and walk out alone; "for the child's sake." I did indeed choose my path.
I stand corrected
Insofar as you chose to raise your child. You did not choose to go without your husband. :)
