NBC Cancels Everything

Funny thing is, I think Nick’s character was raped in prison, so that presumably would be a pretty big motivator for why he’d really be disgusted by homosexuals. Getting the baby on the way as far from the dysfunctional Horton/DiMera brood (Sami/Will/EJ) is also pretty justified, too. Will Horton’s character (or maybe it is the actor, too ?) I just plain don’t like. He’s seemed like a weird little creep from jump street, even before they altered the character to gay.

I have to wonder about the actor (Chandler Massey, the son of a former Democrat Secretary of State from Georgia). It’s one thing for a straight actor to have to perhaps portray a gay character for a short period (without necessarily any requirements for love scenes), quite another to play it for a prolonged period where he is essentially doing public love scenes in every episode he appears in. It’s also singularly ludicrous that the reactions of most of the principal players would be instant acceptance and applause of the behavior/lifestyle (with the lone exception of the character’s father). At some point, you’d think a straight actor, no matter how professional, would eventually say, ‘OK, enough with the makeout scenes.’ For me, I cringe in disgust when they show another scene with that behavior.

I’m not quite in the viewing demographic for soaps (male, straight, late 30s), but for most female viewers, I’d venture a guess they’re also not interested in a prolonged storyline as such that has been front and center on the show for months on end. Nick should take Gabi and leave town... case closed.

As for the other characters, it’s so boring. Daniel Jonas & Jennifer Horton... they just need to go. Can’t stand ‘em. The storyline between John Black, Marlena, Kristen DiMera & Brady Black has gone on far too long. What is the appeal of John Black, anyhow ? Drake Hogestyn has got to be the worst long-term soap actor in the industry (just edging out Ronn Moss on ‘The Bold & The Beautiful’). The guy who invented the ‘smelling the fart’ style of acting. It’s just ridiculous. I’d rather Eileen Davidson go back to Y&R, she’s just being wasted here.

Now you have Bo Brady who has just vanished from the scene (the actor having left again), and it is so completely out of character and unbelievable. Now Bo & Hope’s little child, Ciara, is morphing into some evil and angry spawn with daddy gone, like a female Billy Mumy in that ‘Twilight Zone’ episode (I thought she was gonna wish Kristen DiMera into the cornfield the other week). Come to think of it, having the kid demon possessed might make the show interesting again, and the little girl actress, all of 9, could effectively play it... she’s more interesting to watch than the adults.

Yeah I think Nick’s character probably got raped in prison by that guy Vargas, the one who screwed Nicole(Who on Days hasn’t had sex with Nicole LOL) now you have Rafe who figured him out, sees that Nick is crazier than the cocoa puffs bird, and doesn’t want Gabi to be with him anymore..I think the actors in real life actually believe the homo agenda because I had followed the actor who plays Nick on twitter..I followed him because he’s a Laker fan and I saw his tweets about the team so I figured what the heck, I will follow him..but then yesterday I saw him retweet something from GLAAD so I was like UGH and I unfollowed him..I had no idea that Chandler Massey’s father was a Dem, guess it makes sense since he was on Good Day LA a few months ago perfectly happy with gays getting married..makes sense since his father is a Dem..
I go way back with Days..I watched it off and on for about oh 15 years now..Kim and Shane, Patch and Kayla..those were the good ol days..even when Marlena was possessed by the devil it was entertaining..now its just plain dull..you can miss two weeks of the show, watch it again and have missed nothing..I thought maybe with Kristen back on the show it would make things interesting again but even she is now dull..even though she hired that dude to beat up Brady which still makes no sense.
They are trying to turn the show into a teen soap opera, something that teenagers might enjoy, but its lame..teenagers dont have time to watch soap operas..nor do I think they even care about them..oh and you can bet that when Ciara grows up she will be a little demon like the other child actors on the show who eventually grow up to be nuts..wouldnt be surprised to see little Johnny and Sydney grow up to be nuts too..even though Sydney never talks lol

NBC also cancelled The New Normal, Animal Practice, Smash, Guys With Kids, Up All Night and Deception

I have only ever seen one of those shows. Apparently not many other people watched them either.

They all seem to be not-to-clever retreads of other shows that were successful, or else generic variants on sitcom formulas.

It was clever of them to sneak cancellation of "The New Normal" somewhere in the middle of all the others so as not to antagonize gay groups.
