I propose a two-step program to reduce traffic congestion.
chicago and atlanta beat out bridgeport.
the traffic in Houston isn’t nearly as bad as many people think. the good part about Houston is there is almost always an alternate route if there is an accident on one of the freeways.
If there is a major accident on I-5 into or out of Seattle during rush hour, you are totally screwed for hours at a time.
I used to go to a cardiologist at Round Rock medical complex, but he moved to another state. Now I have to go to Austin Heart at 38th & Lamar. Other than that, I may go to Mabry once every two or three months and never during rush hour.
I just drove through there yesterday afternoon and was reminded why I eschew large cities in general.
Or Dallas and Atlanta
I think someone around the corner from me has a car like that!
Living out here on the left coast, north of Gay Frisco and not that far from San Jose, we can be impacted by both.
I had to laugh at the commute time of Gay Frisco drivers, Average commute time: 29.2 minutestied for 10th highest).
That obviously deals only with Gay Frisco drivers. You can spend more time than that trying to get across the Bay Bridge or Golden Gate Bridge. You need a snack, porta potty and a nap to get from San Jose to Gay Frisco during commute time.
When I turned fifty, I warned all relatives if they intended to visit us an flew into SFO or San Jose, they were responsible for getting from the airport to wino country and back.
If their arrival didn’t interfere with work, I would pick them up at the Sac airport and take them back unless they landed or took off during rush hours. If they did, they were responsible for getting here and returning to the airport.
Once our guests rented a car and drove from SFO or San Jose to here, they understood why I was so firm. The same happened to those landing or taking off at Sac.
20+ years later, that traffic is worse.
We love the beaches in the Avila Beach area, and while the mileage is about 240 miles each way, the trip each way has us fighting the Gay Frisco Traffic and San Jose traffic. A trip that should take about 4 hours balloons turns into a 6-7+ hour trip. Many of those who try to make up the time on 101 south after San Jose get hammered with speeding tickets.
Hey! At least we're allowed to pump our own gas...
Absolutely! I don’t remember how many times we saw people driving the wrong way down the road. Red lights are suggestions, I noticed.
That was pretty much the only thing I didn’t like about living down there.
True. And my job can’t be done at home either.
