Maybe they can modify it so that the attraction remains but it stops you from doing something stupid like marrying them.

The socialist-democrat party is aggressively pursuing ugly women and gay men with trillions in government money.
The republican party is successfully attracting the prettiest women in politics, often by promising to reduce taxes and spending.
