Several stories about restaurants of various kinds, changing their menu, changing their decor, because of declining sales. DUH! When people don’t have money to eat out, they don’t eat out. Superficial changes won’t remedy that.

They know why sales are generally down. But they have to do whatever they can to increase sales and profits.

I own an apparel business, and in these times I have to increase product selection, update the web site look, etc., to increase market share.

If I'm not creating a great burger at home, here is one of my favorite burger joints - Five Guys Burgers & Fries. The fresh cut fries are absolutely fantastic!!!

I’ve been eating McDonalds since I was 12 yrs old when I’d ride my bike to the first one that opened in Cleveland, Oh.
At age 64, I have a hard time buying into the Morgan Spurlock line of thinking.

I’ll look into that, the property taxes in Austin sound terrible

I have a favorable experience to relate concerning McDonalds. On May 26, 1979, I skipped school (I was a junior in high school) and took the subway to downtown Boston. I wandered around Downtown Crossing and met Ben Orr from the rock band "The Cars." Turns out the band was taking publicity pictures for their new album "Candy-O". I was not the autograph kind of person so I did not degrade myself in that manner, but I did tell Ben Orr that his music was quite good and he seemed appreciate the compliment. He slapped me on the back and told me I really should be in school.

He was quickly joined by Ric Ocasek and the rest of the entourage and I was kind of pushed off to the side. But I was by the McDonalds and I ended up going in there, completely high from the experience. I looked up at the menu and saw that they had Egg McMuffins which was something I had not had before. I ordered two of them and proceeded to sit down and eat them with a large Coke. It was probably the most delicious food from McDonalds I ever tasted. Even better then their fries and Shamrock shakes. I've been sort of a Egg McMuffin addict ever since.

Though I make them at home now, my own way. I take Thomases English Muffins, swiss cheese, bacon, olive oil (instead of butter) and lot of fried eggs and slap them all together. They are greasy and messy as hell but I do like eating them.

Sounds awesome.
I eat at McDonald’s maybe once a month.
To me it’s a capitalist success story.

I just love to snipe at liberals and progressives who deem it unsuitable.

I’ve also noticed that since the era of Baraq began, the media is careful never to use the formerly ubiquitous “McJobs” slur when talking about the economy.

You REALLY do not want to live in the Austin city limits. Not just the property tax, but high energy costs too. Austin is using “green energy” that is produced by a solar array outside Webberville, wind farm energy, a wood chip plant in east Texas (that has been idled for over a year but residents are still paying for the non existent power), several gas fired plants, etc.

They sold their share of the Fayette County Power Project, a clean coal plant about a year ago. They also got out of the S Texas Nuke plant. One of the local tee vee stations had a “Why your electric rates are so high” stories that should have had over half the residents at city hall with tar and feathers.

look at the list of ingredients in a McD bun. Why do you want to put that stuff into your body?

Regular Bun:
