You posted from Drudge Retort (a left wing propaganda site)last night ....I am talking about the real Drudge Report. Got it?!
Night of the Comet (1984)
Thanks for the reassurance. I am a ninny. And to think how much I enjoyed the Perseids this summer....lol. Death Stars...lol..that is what they are. :)
Meteor Ping...
I didn't know there was a difference.
Seems like it should be in Breaking News, and major breaking news at that.
>>>>Youre welcome!
Rescue workers claim that the new meteorite falls are expected,
What the heck?
How can they know that more meteorites will fall?<<<<
This thing is a part of DA14 asteroid nearing the Earth at 28,000 km (which is closer than geostationary orbit used to place satellites). You can certainly expect larger pieces in evening Moscow time as they defined it.

That vid is not from the same event.
Dang!!!! I was hoping it would hit DC.
wow!!!
>>>>I read a short story about 10-12 years ago where that happened. A meteorite strikes Moscow, destroying most of the city. The Russians think it was the US launching a preemptive strike, so they launch a “retaliatory” strike against the West. The story dealt mainly with the post-strike world, but it is scary to imagine What if? scenarios like that.
Remember the shock of 9-11? Now multiply that by a thousand, throw in the fear of the unknown (we at least partially knew what was hitting us) along with a century of animosity, and you have a recipe for disaster.<<<<
It is way too unrealistic scenario. Early warning radar systems are pretty capable to distinguish between asteroid and a massive nuclear strike.
Yikes!
According to @AP, over 400 injured in Russia following the meteorite fall. This number may continue to climb.
Well, it may hit anywhere else in a few hours.
Thanks for those.
Let us hope no more have booked an Earth Vacation.
This event is now being reported and discussed in News/Activism.
