That may be why O signed it, but it was proposed in the House by a real conservative.
I am deliberately ignoring the news, but that makes me furious.
I just had an employee stop in my office belly aching because her SS deduction went up $30. I just said -- "that's Obamacare. People should have listened before the election."
But, she's getting off easy. Obama's 99 weeks of unemployment meant that I had to pay $1000 extra on this payroll because I have people who left here 2 years ago that are still collecting unemployment. Because neither my husband, or myself have been taking paychecks, our tax collection/unemployment compensation ratio is all out of whack. All I know is that I have to pay $1000 extra every month for at least 20 months. OUCH!
I’ve never developed a taste for fried stuff, other than shrimp tempura, and okra rolled in cornmeal and fried, which is almost my favorite sin.
Excuse me — I have to pay $1000 extra every TWO WEEKS. Double ouch!
Of course that is why-he will grasp any opportunity to protect himself from anything.
Ow-I hear ya! I’m barely making it, but if the contractor I sub for gets a decent-sized job that involves a couple months work, he and I, and all the other subs will have to cough up about $1200, for being self-employed, plus whatever else is taxable on next years’ 1099-starve if we work, starve if we don’t...
Take some leftover mashed potatoes, add an egg and some flour and fry up some little patties in butter. Delish!
I’ve never heard of sauting spaghetti ..... that does sound good!
OMG...I nibbled on a corner of the cinnamon crunch bagel. It is WONDERFUL!
That is sad
We sometimes stop at Panera while walking from the parking garage to hockey and I get one instead of paying a fortune for concessions.
Haha - I read this to my son - we both got a kick out of it!
You two may not remember but cutting OFF lifetime SS service was a cost saving measure I believe enacted by President Bush. He limited it to 10 years. I’m sure he felt Presidents were rich enough by then to afford their own private security if needed. Obama, as emperor, didn’t like that.
I’m actually looking forward to the NHL return ... there’s no excuse not to show up, since it’s a sprint this year. The play may be sloppy & scrambly a bit, but it should be intense.
I caught some AHL games from Rochester (Sabres’ farm team) where the newer guys like Foligno and Hodgson were honing their skills quite nicely — they should be ready to go.
Yes, I do remember that-now we will have to wait for a reasonable and sensible congress-if such a thing ever exists again-to undo it again.
Considering what presidents make while in office-as much as many CEOs-, there are a lot of things they should pay for, as well-like their own vacations if they take more than one per year to go someplace they don’t own, or isn’t a perq-like Camp David-enough with the rock star entourages and occupation of entire condo complexes in Hawaii and Spain etc.
Glad you enjoyed it-I will admit to having a sarcastic sense of humor most of the time.
I remember when we learned the clintons were charging $10K a month for their own ss detail to “rent” space on their property, thus paying their mortgage on the house in NY. That totally disgusted me and still does.
oh, yeah. I know. just pointing out that conservatives in congress are promoting this. I usually like Trey Gowdy’s positions.
Unfortunately, Michelle Antoinette is the type who will (or does) treat secret service assigned to her like indentured servants-remember “don’t you look at me” Hillary? There should be some rules for employment-no one should have to put up with crap like that, unless they specifically sign off on it...
