Billions of years from now, the Earth is going to be swallowed by an expanding sun, including all the orbiting crafts around it. Our only legacy will be the probes sent to more distant planets, or out of the solar system altogether.

Billions of years from now! I’m not sure we’ll make it through the next 4 years

And imagine in another 100,000 years (provided we are still around) when we have been constantly launching pictures, recordings and memorabilia into space for just as long. We will be considered the nuisance polluters of the galaxy and mocked for assuming that any aliens actually care about our junk.

Darn, I'm hope I'm not still around for that.

If you become a ghost, and get eaten by an expanding sun, will it hurt? Whats the life span on being a ghost?

At some point in the distant future, our species has learned how to travel backwards in time and is not yet recognized as being the time travelers of tomorrow. We don’t know why they would come back but possibly for the purpose of clearing the way for future time travel. How far into the future was it that the species perfected this ability? Are they coming back to earth from another part of the universe or are they still earth-based that far into the future?

I guess these “Geniuses” have never read that satellite orbits decay over time...and all satellites in orbit around the Earth will come crashing down...eventually.

Another thought is that aliens a lot closer to us saying, “Wow, these beings just sent us a menu, those two legged naked creatures sure looks tasty”

Billions of years from now, the Earth is going to be swallowed by an expanding sun The solar system will pass a few hydrogen gas stations along the way. The computers may decide to re-fill the solar gas tank and use the bitroom.

So 1969 was pretty much the optimum time to go. If we waited much longer..... It is ~43" further away now than it was in 1969. We should have gone in 10,000 BC. Then we could have used the Saturn IV.

Satellites in geo-synchronous orbit are there for 100s of thousands of years.
They all spin around the earth in the same direction. One of the future threats of islam is that they could launch a load of shrapnel in geo-synchronous orbit going the wrong way which would quickly destroy every satellite in that orbit with no hope of using it ever again.

They should launch a complete copy of the ObamaCare bill and all associated regulations along with a Pelosi translation script.
Who’d think in billions of years, there would be a silver lining. It and she will be long gone.
