There was a line of about 50 people in front of us at 8:30 am. We’ve never had more than 20 in front before. I think it’s a good sign because we’re a nice Republican suburb.
well apparently we do not require english fluency in order to vote. maybe your twitter feed doesn’t have the same stuff as mine, but JRubinblogger just tweeted about the long line/wait at her polling station in Fairfax and someone else tweeted that it was a 3 hour wait in Ballston [arlington Co.] where they were voting. Why a gov’t should go out and invest in a mess of voting machines that are going to be used MAYBE once every 4 years [obviously were not required four years ago here!]doesn’t seem PRUDENT.
well i sure hope that the republicans in VA waiting in long lines to vote aren’t the pu$$y you are ; )
You wanna keep bickering till the polls close? ;-)
I’m sure you saw this.
Awesome tweet from Tebow!
Got to my polling place and had to wait for a parking spot. Many had gone out back to park in the back lot. WOW. Never saw so many folks voting there in my life. People were moving right along, no lines, but lots voting.
i only bicker when you make some completely ridiculous statement and refuse to back off of it! i told xshub what you’ve been saying and he roared because he knows where you live! LOL!
Not an Obama voter in sight this morning at the polls-it was very early, but I think the last of the few liberals out here were converted by the loss of snowbird tourists (and with them, most of the businesses and jobs in this tiny rural community), thanks to the price of gas and job losses all over the US curtailing travel...
I’m praying for king Obama
To receive a stinging rebuke-
The chaos of “his” four years
Was enough to make me puke
But he’s not the only problem-
Sensible people have to show
All his bolsheviks and enablers
That this is not where we will go
Vote out every starry-eyed leftist-
Their ideas are the dated and stale
Visions of koolaid drinking lunatics
That are permanently beyond the pale
I see no reason why they should not just be shunned as being out of touch, ignorant and weak-which they are. Then it would be another 40 years before they get it together again-or if we learn a lesson from history, never again...
Tell him I also get annoyed that green card holders are allowed into the same immigration line at the airport as we natural born citizens. ;-)
And nonsense. You bicker for amusement. I have only said two completely uncontroversial things:
a) that people who can’t figure out the voting process shouldn’t be pampered
b) when gov’t fails to provide reasonable service to its citizens it should be criticized and rectified.
Off the subject of the election, but-what kind of an idiot mother lets/puts a kid on a railing around a wild animal exhibit? She might as well have given him a pail of ground beef and sent him to the tiger enclosure...
can’t possibly be legal. but is there anyone there to cause a ruckus? apparently the NAACP taking over a polling place in Houston didn’t have anyone complaining either. but then you have some MORON pollworker having a fit over someone wearing an M.I.T sweatshirt in to vote!! can you imagine?????
I told you all about my new priest...well....at all masses this past weekend he stepped up after mass to “apologize” for his homilies. OMG....I was shocked. He has been “counceled by the senior priest and the bishop? For what for crying out loud.
that is just horrible! i thought the new bishop would be better?? You should go and ask the senior priest what the infraction was.
I would think they woulkd at least hang a tarp over it while the polls are open-shouldn’t someone file a complaint?
The mind boggles. Also at the fact that the zoo (I’ve been there many, many times) had one end of this observation post open. The other two side had fencing put up to prevent such a thing.
I have and my senior priest told me he was not happy with him. I told him I loved our new priest, he told me I was in the minority. That was two weeks ago, maybe three. I intend to go see Fr. Brian and I plan on finding that homily from Fr. Decelles where he mentioned being criticized. Fr. Brian said almost the same thing. He would not apologize for WHAT he said, but maybe for his “tone”....supposedly “arrogant and condescending”...wow. I disagree. Many were shocked to be told that adulatory is a mortal sin.
The senior priest needs to be reminded that their job there is not to make the congregants HAPPY, but to instruct them in God’s teachings. Ok, Fr. DeCelles said that all criticism should be done in charity, so if he wasn’t charitable, ok, apologize for that. but as far as content, OH WELL, God’s not interested in having people vote on which commandments they like and don’t like. And the priests are not there to win popularity contests.
Oh, and DH told me at his mass Sat night that he teared up and almost broke down when he made his apology. Sun morning he was much better, that was when I went. I had an EMS conference all day Sat out of town.
Tell the old priest that the new priest was just comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comforted.
Lefties get off on that kind of talk.
