It's hard for me to believe that someone at that age, at that time, really had an understanding of the visibility of her actions. So yes, I do feel a bit sorry for her. I just can't imagine f-ing up my life so badly at such a young age. It would be nice if Ms. Lewinsky had the ability to drop from site and find eternal happiness, but, alas, that doesn't seem to be in the cards for her.
Given the circumstances - if I had the opportunity to pen a tale and get a few million dollars - I'm not so sure that I would turn it down - especially if the rest of my life was as s**t as her’s seem to continue to be.
It seems to me to be completely self-consistent. If Ms. Lewinsky had the self respect to not have to write such a book - she'd probably also have the self respect to not have had something to write about in the first place.
What does the Good Book say about reaping and sowing?
She believed she was someone, because she could attract and “entertain” the president... the most powerful man on the earth.
The reality was that her eagerness to uh, please was happily used and abused by a filthy, despicable rat who thought nothing of abusing his position of power over an insecure, starstruck intern who had zero self-respect.
These kinds of dysfunctional relationships are nothing new, but considering that in her case it became world news, leaving her to be seen by all - and for all time - as the slutty bimbo who even gained a permanent placename in the lexicon of the vulgar, I can see why she is where she is.
I may be in the minority around here but I feel sorry for her. She had to have had major daddy issues of abandonment. Yes, she was a foolish, trashy young woman, but evil Bill Clinton took full advantage of her immaturity and vulnerability and not only destroyed her psyche, but her ability to have a normal life.
Whatever family abandonment or abuse issues occurred with the grimy kenyan were not only out of the public eye, he chose to repay evil for even more evil (and that’s assuming he even has such an excuse), and punish an entire country for the sins of his elders. Or just destroy for the amusement of a power trip. No sympathy. Monica was relegated to a life with Ben and Jerry and a spoon.
Here’s one voice for mercy on her.
IF the supposed claim of $12 million is what will give Monica freedom from her tortured life then go for it. Having said all this I do not intend on buying her book. Having daily reports of this on Fox of this twisted man during my own children's youth will last me a life time.
To me, there were two tragedies of the Monica Lewinsky affair:
1) 68% of the people would not hold Bill Cliton accountable for his crimes of perjury, suborning perjury and conspiring to fix a Federal court case, in addition to lying directly to a Federal judge, and for creating a security risk via blackmail of the office of the President
2) the horrible treatment and vilification of Linda Tripp, whose advice to Monica to save the blue dress saved Monica from becoming another name on the Clinton death list.
Boo hoo....actions have consequences.
I saw her at an event at the time of the scandal and she was ghostly white, chubby and out of shape back then.
Bill Clinton obviously never cared about Monica Lewinsky, she was just a foolish young girl he could do stuff with.
Well, we were all young once. I could crack jokes about what the term “Lewinsky” means these days, but I look back at 22 and the dumb stuff I did at that age. No married women, but a couple of bad decisions were made to say the least.
Well, what did she think would happen? As my husband would say “think about where her mouth has been!”
I’m sure with $12 million she’ll find some fool.
If you are a man, would you be seen with a woman who is not only world famous for fellating the president but whose name has become an euphemism for doing so?
But as compensation, she is the eponym of fellatio.
I don't know what the rules are, but if it's possible, she should also waive attorney client privilege and instruct her lawyers to tell all. It's history now. I've always regretted that the principals in the celebrated controversies so often take their secrets to the grave. You hear me, G. Gordon Libby?
I still can’t believe that some publisher is willing to pay her $12 million for a 16 year old story.
Who would want to marry someone like that,or worse yet, for her to be the mother of your child?
so now we know where old “person in charge of BJ’s” types go when their lips go...
