He hasn’t replied to my inquiry yet which is understandable since he is home for only 60 days. .. I will post back here once i get an audience. o_O

Thank you for your patience in awaiting a replay from my friend who recommended the piston buffer for AR-15 collapsible stocks. I will paste in his reply in a moment.
I want to remind you he is a professional war fighter who enlisted in the USMC at age 18. He progressed to earn a slot in Force Recon (swift, silent, deadly). He got out shortly after Desert Storm 1 ‘cuz he was disgusted with Clinton. He went back in about 18 mos later - but into the Army so he could get a preferred MOS. He was Army Special Forces in Desert Storm 2 and Afghanistan. He got out as a E-8 after finishing his “GI” career and some really prime assignments I won’t mention because if I did, a smart person could narrow down the universe of who he might be. I WILL preserve his anonymity. Now his role has him with/supporting/training/etc the “Mils” in Afghanistan. He has been there, done that, and is still in the thick of things. I have known him since shortly after Desert Storm 1. He has a VERY minimal BS tolerance. And I have seen him handle an AR-15 and a BAR with aplomb and skill. He is proficient with pretty much every weapon in the Army armory.
NET: If he recommends something, it is battle tested, and a worthy item.

So what did he write back to me both with regard to
(1) the utility and value of the ‘gizmo’ AND
(2) the comments from some of you about being man enough ;-)
?
“this is exactly what I was talking about. Don’t worry about those wanna be’s on the boards; all they are is back yard commandos. This piece of hardware for your weapon works well especially in rapid fire scenarios while transitioning from one target to the next because there is less muzzle rise, and due to less recoil you can get the sights back on target quicker and more accurately. highly recommend it for the sport and home defense/ zombie apocalypse shooters. It’ll make you better.
Take care,

Just want to point out he’s the sort of guy who could kick you A$$ and have you thank him for stopping. So, sorry for the “backyard commandos” comment, but he has earned the right to say it, even though many of you guys HAVE ALSO earned your stripes as well.
Thanks again for your comments and input.
No worries, not a back yard commando or commando of any sort here , just a low speed, high drag guy who in the past has spent a bit of time on solving some issues related to the current issue M-4 and on improved kit giving our guys an edge to get the job done and come home safe and in one piece.
Then, tell him I will kick his freaking fourth-point-of-contact. I was handling the "Mighty Mattel" before he was born.

He's just a young puppy who may have earned some stripes, but he hasn't earned any respect with a comment like that.

He doesn’t come close to having the right to call me anything except “Sir”. I was serving this country with distinction while his daddy was still reading comic books. When your buddy has as many holes in my body as I do - and has finished 28 years in the service AND another 13 years developing weapons for our government, then maybe he can start throwing insults around. I honor his service - but he needs to keep the smart stuff to himself.
