Ha. I caught a glimpse of something on the interwebs about a scandal involving the Queen of England. Then saw this headline, and stared at it for the longest time trying to figure out why the Queen of England was in a Hooters.

You better be hoping Mr. Cha isn’t reading this thread or both of you could be the next defendants. (I’d guess the entire court would be fighting their grins as the charges were read aloud- that was quite a line).

Hmmmm....I had cousin....who was known as CHINK....because at one time he “talked like a Chinaman” .... this was in the 1940s-1960s

I am reminded of the case of Willis Augustus Lee (1888-1945), Vice Admiral, USN. During his days at Annapolis, he acquired the nickname "Ching Chong" because of his name, his fondness for the Far East, and possibly his appearance (he was actually a distant relative of Robert E. Lee).

His Annapolis history came in handy during a naval battle in WWII. He was commanding a couple of battle wagons against the Japanese. However, in the "fog of war", things got confused, and other US forces sicced PT boats on Lee's forces.

His radio operators heard the order go out on the radio. Lee got on the radio to Guadalcanal and demanded that the boats be called off. However, his identity was questioned. He responded, "This is Ching Chong China Lee! Chinese, catchee? Refer your boss about Ching Lee. Call off your boys!" Guadalcanal answered, "Identity established. We are not after you."

Soooo. he sued Hooter’s because he got gawked at? Because he got called “Chinx”?? It IS the money. jerk.

I can’t say as I blame him (girl friend isn’t suing) for being upset, but suing the former hostess in federal court seems a bit over the top just to teach her a lesson.

Oh, wait! You mean he is suing the business that immediately, upon learning of the incident, investigated, then confronted her about it; and where she, as a direct result, no longer works?

Keelhaul him and his lawyer.

He was right to call the employee on it. The employer did the right thing. Tort reform needed now.
