Just another Illegal Alien who had just waded across to Rio Grande in the Texas heat on his way to Houston to take the good jobs away from Real Americans.

If it can stop this governor’s quest for a toll road in every county, MORE POWER TO THEM. But it probably won’t...

When was the first Indian tribe established? Pre-history would be before recorded history.

NA. That term again. It bugs me. Some might say I get hung on semantics but there's really no such thing is "Native American." Everyone came from somewhere else.
And Leftists are not Liberals, despite their appropriation of the term it's so much doublespeak.
As for the find, cool. They should keep looking for artifacts and scare up the goods on our hero and his ways. This is an area that's rich in discoveries just waiting to be made along the coastal area.

“It may be the oldest remains discovered in Harris County from 3,000 to 5,000 years old.”
They were only 2,500-4,500 when Álvar Núñez took a dump on top of them during his wanderings.

Do you call Canadians, Canadians or those people that live their now? How about that entire Middle east mess, go tell the Israelis that that's not their home, they came somewhere else.
I, as Dine, believe that we originated here, our land, the Dinetah, in the beginning.

I prefer "American Indian" AI if tribal affiliation is unknown but as for why? Well, if you're born in America, you're a Native American But the AI is used to ascribe origin or indigenousness of a people. They would have us believe they didn't originate elsewhere and, of course, that they have claim over the land. They had it in part, but lost it in warfare. Territorial claims have always been fluid all over the world. Besides there were arguably others not related to them here long before-- making them late to the party.
But I understand your point, and it's technically correct on one level.

I have no issue with territory lost in battle but the U.S. has spent my money and the lives of Americans to protect/defend/regain land lost by other people. When in comes down to upholding treaties made with American Indians, folks get all interested in ancient origins.
and as far as "late to the game", many tribes have been in the same lands for many centuries and have been there continuously long enough to rival any other nation.
We were here, been here and plan on staying. There is no "going to visit our homeland or holy-land " for us, we live in our holy-land, we were born here and we shall die here like those before us.

Anyone born here is a native American. No one born prior to Amerigo Vespucci’s stroke of luck (getting two continents named after him) can be considered a native American. :’)
