Did you try the Ubuntu Forums....also might try Ubuntu itself...would help isolate whether the problem is unique to Mint Menu's.

For working with multiple Distros get a Hot Swap rack and additional Hard Drives....

Like:

Actually, I started with Ubuntu.. hated it :p

I pretty much resolved the problem by wiping out Cinnamon and installing Mate instead. Not as pretty, but is just as flexible as Cinnamon ;)

OLD Thread... but just to update you, I graduated to KDE (xfce as backup) and wouldn’t want it any other way ;^)
