This would be the absolute death of Superman as a viable comic / American symbol. But what the heck, theyve been trying to kill this off for a while. They've killed off rock and roll, hamburgers, American cars, and drive-ins/thrus.
They've already divorced Superman from fight for truth, justice, AND the American way.
This is about trouncing on a flag as Ayers did on 9-11-2001.

A certain famous fanboy said that Ian McKellen enjoyed having young boys come running up to him at comic book/movie conventions. He seemed to emphasize the “enjoyment” aspect.

It would be a disastrous decision. There's only one Superman, and they'd be stupid to make him gay.
But I believe there were several Flashes and several Green Lanterns, and ... who cares how many Green Arrows there were ... I don't even know what he could do.
Sometimes a character dies and somebody else comes back with the identity. That's probably what they'll do this time. Some character nobody who actually reads comics nowadays knows about.
Of course he won't be DC's first gay comic book hero:
The "Gay Ghost" came out in the early 40s.
He was later renamed the "Grim Ghost."
I don't know if this is him or another "Grim Ghost" brought out by another label, but he still looks pretty gay.

It seems pretty ironic to call a gay guy a super man.

That was back in the days when that word merely meant “happy”.

Meanwhile, they have a sodomite wedding depicted on the cover of Astonishing X-Men #51...not only a 'gay wedding', but an interracial one, to boot.
Can't wait to see Mom's face when junior drags this one from the comic store...

That would be very foolish and highly unfortunate. That will be even more so if it is one of their major characters. It is quite puzzling why business concerns decide to get associated with certain social issues. If I am making money selling cupcakes why would I want to wade into the turbid waters of gun control, or postulate on the merits and demerits of abortion, or wax poetic on gay marriage? I should just concentrate on selling the cupcakes and leave such issues to those whose job is not to sell cupcakes. I am surprised why DC, or Marvel, would do this. It is a high risk low reward strategy, no matter what their personal beliefs on the issue are, and it doesn’t make much sense honestly.

this is just a tool for predators to attack children.
DC is beyond stupid for going this route. It is marketing suicide. Whoever approved this should be fired on the spot.
Advertisers should FLEE from this commercial fiasco.
The suit in chief at warner should be comming down so hard on this subsidiary’s board. They are destroying the brand.
