always liked this one..
Whether you’re a brother
or whether you’re a mother
you’re stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive
Feel the city breakin
and everybody shakin’
and were stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin’ alive
The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack made the Bee Gees’ superstars, yet it also was the absolute zenith of their career. And once you’ve hit the zenith, well, there’s really only one direction you can go.
I used to HATE disco with a fanatical passion in my heavy metal/punk rock days, but on balance, and with a little perspective, the Bee Gees’ were very, very talented.
RIP Robin Gibb and Donna Summer.
No, she just jumped the shark.
Yes, the early music was much better.
How tragic for Barry. The oldest brother has buried all his younger siblings, starting with the youngest. It is a shame.
RIP Robin and prayers for the remaining family.
Diana Ross?
I think she’s still stayin alive
LOL! Good one.
I don’t know why, but I totally got Diana Ross and Donna Summer mixed up.
Both Robin and his twin, Maurice died of problems with their intestines....coincidence?
Jonathan Winters and Phyllis Diller are still alive!
Yes, their earlier music was better.
But I have to admit, “Staying Alive” has a hook that just grabs you. Perfect strut.
Sad for Barry, as you said.
Prayers and condolences to the Gibb family.
Valerie Simpson is alive, but Nick Ashford is dead.
From what I have read that whole Gibb family has had genetic health problems. Not surprised Robin got sick like Maurice. The Gibbs just has that kind of illness that runs in families. Pity because they had talent.
‘Saturday Night Fever’ is a very good film if you can get past its pop culture baggage.
I'm playing the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack in your honor.
We may die, but DISCO LIVES FOREVER!!!
This is kind of a tragedy. People scoff at the Bee Gees, what with the disco association and all. But they had tight, soaring harmonies, and while the music maybe wasn’t groundbreaking or profound it was sincere. Any given Gibb boy had more talent in one chest hair than most of today’s pop performers can muster at all.
Ok. I wasn’t in love then.
Bad week for another icon of times past by.
Makes be feel old.
I wasn't a huge fan of their music, but the memories their music invokes takes me back to a sweet time in life I'll never forget.
On the flip side, they're # two this week....
RIP, he and his brothers made some memorable music.
