I know of experts in such esoteric but then popular tools as PowerBuilder who have had to retrain themselves to use something companies are actually using today.

I had to LOL at that one. Yep, subroutines, be they loosely coupled or tightly coupled. A lot of fancy wrapping on the outside though.
