Hey...it’s Maria’s recipe! LOL!
I’m sure lime makes it better, but the avacados are what I like. Chiles and jalapenos make it “Mexican,” but the milder the peppers, the better I like the flavor.
Zon is most likely an excellent cook. She can fix any recipe any way she wants to with my blessing! (Kindred spirits, so-to-speak!)
I’m making the Chickpea Dish With Noodles for a family at church. The gentleman has ALS and the lady works full-time and there are college-age sons at home, but the sons must have jobs or something, because the church sent an email out asking for meals.
Bill is going to take Sally and Pat to see “Brave” later this afternoon. I’ll give him extra money to pick up some Chinese takeout on the way home.
You are so generous!
Bill needs to drag his siblings along every chance you get!
He will soon be on his own.
XO
Thank you.
Bill is doing a service to the family. I don’t want to leave Pat and Sally unsupervised, and I can’t go to the movie with them. Tomorrow he’ll put on his marvelous Eagle Scout uniform and march in the parade with James, Pat, and Vlad (and Pack 198 and Pack 214 and whoever else shows up). Then he gets the evening off. I imagine he and his friends will do something involving fireworks, hopefully under competent adult supervision.
Trial by fire is a guaranteed recipe for bonding success, although nobody thinks about it at the time. It’s all about your loved ones having your back in a firefight or whatever challenges you’re experiencing. We all seem confident in the knowledge that we are so blessed—isn’t it terrific to be so wealthy?
YAY, Bill!
(Take lots of piccies for me, please!)
Holy cow! I didn’t know there was such a thing as Tannerite! (As usual, enrichment is abundant here on the UT.) I used to do machine leg presses to blow off steam, and when I was really grouchy I’d have one or two big guys stand on top of the stacks.
Perhaps you might want to consider an alternative if you need target practice but want to be quiet. You can make your own blowgun with pvc tubing that can give you hours of enjoyable target practice. Just a suggestion. (I *love* target practice!)
Will copy and paste your recipe—thank you very much!
My “loved ones” are here, on the Undead Thread. I would apologize for my family, but they aren’t worth it. The UT has been with me through all my trials, and there is no way I will dis them. The Undeadders are my LIFE!!!
I’ve been on the Undead Thread at least seven years, because Vlad was born here after we left earth, and I was here before that. Undead FRiends are real friends, giving real help, big or small. “If it all falls down,” the Zombie Apocalypse or whatever else happens, we’ll make sure our people are taken care of.
Kathleen had Ash’s tail, but Ash moved it. (*groan, HUFF*) Now she’s trying to get a grip on the carpet to drag herself forward, unsuccessfully. We haz a tiny pink furious now.
At the height of my weightlifting I was doing 1200 on a hip sled. 4x8. Then I’d back it off to around 800 and do toe-raisers.
Never did get my squats up over 485 though. Go figure...
That was 5-6 years ago now. Time flies.
*hugs*
I need to borrow Tom for his perspective. These birds look as big if not bigger than the local hawks (maybe redtails?), but the local cats are rather large, too, so I can’t tell if they’re small ravens or large crows.
Your comment about doing a service to the local avian community brought a concept to mind. During a macroeconomics class, our prof expressed the following question: “Is it immoral to let a million people starve, or should we feed them and then have ten million starving people?” Sowell covers the concept in the “Black Rednecks” book (how self-sufficiency is discouraged and a culture of victimization is created when able-bodied people are encouraged to be dependent upon the government.) I’m fine with having more ravens and crows as long as they don’t bother the hummingbirds, purple martins, etc. More rambling. It’s not even 1700. I’ll get back to the tomatoes now :).
A million people are starving only in a disaster situation, and if there is a free flow of information and goods, voluntary action will usually address the temporary needs better than any coordinated effort. Only in a few situations, like the Indian Ocean tsunami, is there a real need for the U.S. Navy to intervene, and that was largely because of the island populations with nowhere to evacuate to and the widespread devastation in undeveloped and largely unfree nations.
Thomas Sowell says there’s never, in modern times, been a catastrophic famine in a state or region with a free press and something like democracy. Shortage becomes starvation when government is at liberty to prevent natural market forces from getting food to where it’s most in demand.
I think the Original started in July of 2004, and by New Year’s Eve, we had hit the End Of The Internet.
Tiny Pink Furiousnesses are much more sedate than Tiny Blue Furiousnesses. My Tiny Blue Furiousness learned how to pull himself along the carpet without ever getting on his hands and knees!
You are SUCH a genneman!
Thanks!
I solved the Furious by feeding it, but it woke up again. As soon as the noodles are done, we’ll embark on our supper-delivery. It’s only about ten minutes away.
Ash had “Chunks in gravy with chicken,” which makes one wonder what the “chunks” are, if they’re not chicken. She was hoping I’d give her the pork that was thawing in the sink, but that’s going in the crockpot tomorrow.
