Soo what are trying to say?
Double up on ammo?
You just put into words how untold (thousands, millions?) of us feel about Newt and you're just gonna walk away?
Sweetie there is no tomorrow.

No matter if Newt wins the Republican Nomination or the General election.
Even if he doesn’t win. Newt is not going to fade quietly into the background he knows this country needs him even if we cannot see it.

He once said if he knows for certain that Santorum could get the job done, he would get out. That comment by no means is a belittling criticism but merely stating the fact that now our beloved country is at a critical pivotal junction, therefore, it takes a bold vision, aspiration, and courageous leadership to turn things around, and most importantly to have a sincerity and perseverance to persuade his own people, the entire diverse nation, to sacrifice and follow him. I think what you articulated was well said and just the sort of thing that has been lacking from conversation here.
Why leave? Why not spread the word?

Good post; short stay. Emotions do get high here during primaries. I got used to it. Well, obama has to go, the House has to stay under R control, the Senate has to become under R control, and the Tea Party has to be unleashed to keep them all in check.

Newt is great, he is a logical choice for Conservative Libertarian like myself. However, he is giving us Romney by staying in. As to him walking away from a brokered convention as the nominee, that wont happen.. For the same reason you stated. He won 2 states, one of which is his home.
Newt is exactly what we need, but if he cant get votes in the south, hopw well will he do in washington, Oregon, Ohio etc..
I connect with Newt, I agree with Newt and I wish he was the next President. But if he can’t get the mushy middle voter, he will get us 4 more years of Saul Alinsky. I am all for whoever can make Obama have a worse reelection than Carter.

This the same Newt that, while speaking to high school students in Illinois, decided that giving advice on how to open a bar would be a good idea?

I take it you are a Newt supporter. I was one of the first on FR to argue for Newt.
But, he can’t win even in the South. So what are his chances now?
Romney isn’t tolerable. Seems like we have no where to go but Ricky.
What do you think?

I think Newt needs to refocus his campaign, and zero in on the pressing issues of our time. Internet porn and birth control.
