Although not quite frumpery
Her clothes seem to be trumpery
Michele's not the finest
On who we have an eye cast
But she does have a lot of rumpery.

Did you misunderstand my post? I was commenting about Arlene. Maybe I posted on the wrong comment - if so I’m sorry -

once again, it sounds like a set-up, where a leftist sets out to make the church look INTOLERANT. i read on the thread that she told the priest herself that she lives with her female lover and is a practicing Buddhist, both of those things disqualify her from receiving communion.

Heck, many other Christians cannot even receive in the Catholic church.

None of them can, except for Orthodox in extremely grave circumstances and if they have no recourse to their own clergy.

I got the oddest feeling while watching the Breitbard vid of bammer speaking at the Derrick Bell rally all those years ago. First, I am actually shocked anyone found evidence he existed prior to his Senate run in Illinois; and secondly it was creepy hearing his voice that sounded EXACTLY like it does now. The same cadence, same inflection, same style - a conspiracy theorist might think it was completely doctored using a cgi bammy. Creepy.

I found that odd as well.

What I don’t find so surprising is that he fled his white family and chased after every black radical he could find. He embraced it all. I am sure they felt motivated and were happy to hide all this from “white” America. Critical Race Theory and all.

My son is very interested in the Bell story - has been watching interviews and telling me all about it. lol He said the professor bell was all crazed about not getting tenure at Harvard wasn’t even qualified so he didn’t want equal treatment, he wasn’t preferencial treatment.

Christians who do not believe in the transubstantiation of the Eucharist have no business receiving communion. I think only the Orthodox believe it is really the body and blood of Christ, so that makes sense. Certainly, anyone subscribing to a Buddhist philosophy is unlikely to believe in transubstantiation.

i agree it was weird seeing him and hearing him. i had that same visceral reaction to the college aged obams as i do when he comes on the screen at home today, i just immediately start screaming profanity. i honestly do not know how i am going to make it through this election. i may end up in a nuthouse!

I doubt a Priest would even question someone who was in line to receive Communion in a Catholic Church since there are often folks who are there and not part of the congregation, however I would never go up to receive communion because I know the traditions or restrictions they believe. It just wouldn’t be right of me to do that. Yet the Buddist wanted the preferencial treatment, or just to cause a stink. Did she possibly use her own mother’s funeral as a platform for her own agenda?

If you want the full story, the Catholic Church allows Orthodox to receive sacraments in those grave circumstances, but the Orthodox Church has not given permission for her people to actually follow through on our “hospitality.”

The priest has contact with the family prior to the service, she may just have shoved a lot in his face and challenged HIM. Not the other way around. However, not having been there, I cannot definitively say. I CAN say that too often the American Catholic church messes these things up. I refuse to blindly support the discipline of the priest.

This woman TOLD the priest that she was a buddhist lesbian prior to the funeral Mass, and STILL presented herself for communion and caused a stink when refused, so yes, i do believe she was looking to promote her agenda. xshub says it all the time, the Church is going to be put in the position before long, of having to perform gay marriages and in this instance give communion to someone who had pronounced herself ineligible, or be declared to be unfair, unjust, discriminatory. Now if the woman just LOOKED like a dyke, gave every appearance of BEING a dyke, the priest would have been wrong to make assumptions and refuse her. but this woman supposedly flat out told the priest she was actively living in contravention of the church’s teachings.

Yes I agree. He knew because she wanted him to know ahead of time - that’s why I think this was a set up.
