“in order for that to happen, the rules have to change drastically, does anyone believe Mitt will change the rules? No way.”
I don’t know about what Mitt will do but it’s a good idea IF we can also clamp down on the border.
He's trying to avoid being called INHUMANE.
This also overlaps the Reagan Amnesty ~ so these guys would be some sort of "leftovers".
I'd send them back too ~ someone who didn't take advantage of that Amnesty should simply be SOL. Besides, it's time to do a bit of investigating for fraud in that Amnesty anyway.
Newt should just drop the Amnesty idea. Nobody here cares. We have 26 million unemployed people and these people have stayed too long and are no longer welcome ~ not them, not their enablers, not their employers.
Time to crack down with jail time for those who hire illegals.
I said nothing about Romney enacting such a policy. He supports amnesty. He’ll let them in thinking (falsely) that they’ll vote Republican. They won’t. They’ll laugh and flip the bird at the GOP and vote DemocRat.
I was just trying to explain what the theory is.
Sorry, I didn’t realize you were so deep in the tank for Romney.
“When there are no jobs the illegal goes home of his own accord”...
********************************************************************************
For this to happen there actually needs to be precursor action which is to incarcerate those rat U.S. citizens who
love to employ the illegals.
yes I know, and thank you, but romney isn’t interested in doing what it would take.
Illegals come here in response to various incentives - jobs, free medical, free education, citizenship for their children among others. If these incentives were removed they would stop coming and many would leave. That, by itself, would be a huge improvement but not enough. The criminal element would need to be dealt with more directly.
There have been threads right here on FR talking about illegals leaving states just in anticipation of employment laws being enforced.
Enforce employment laws and remove them from the public money nipple and they will go home.
If Mitt was fired up, he sure fooled me. Mitt was trying to land a gotcha or something. Rove has a piece of work here. Mitt is not Bush and he aint going to be President.
Meanwhile, the Dream Act is being employed via a new czar who was the senior vice president of La Raza.
my point is, it is a fantasy for Romney to say it, when he will have no intention of doing what needs to be done (a complete 180 of today’s rules) for it to happen.
Maybe you should get out of the basement more.
And just for your information - none of my preferred candidates are still in the running - and since NC is way down the primary list my choices will be very limited come primary day.
“Enforce employment laws and remove them from the public money nipple and they will go home.”
Newt is saying that if they have to depend on social security then they have to go.
Applicants must first pass a criminal background check, and then the local committees will assess applications based on family and community ties, and ability to support oneself via employment without the assistance of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and other entitlement programs.
The government will rigorously enforce a requirement that all individuals seeking this path to legality must be able to prove that they can independently pay for private health insurance. If an individual cannot prove this, they will lose the ability to stay in the United States.
“When there are no jobs the illegal goes home of his own accord. “
Not if they can count on welfare and other help. Or a life of crime.
Context matters. You are restricting yourself to the means.
Self-deportation as envisioned by politicians involves illegal immigrants becoming overwhelmed with guilt or suddenly fearing the law and returning to their homeland. Obviously these are too fantastic to be taken seriously.
I don’t like it but its at least a partially honest answer.
Operation Wetback didn’t deport nearly as many as those who left on their own and that kind of encouragement is needed.
Frankly I’m disgusted that we’ve winnowed the field down to where Mitt Romney has the strongest immigration stance with a whopping D- grade from numbers USA.
Gradual, announced stepped up enforcement encourages these poor mistreated illegals to come out of the shadows and go home.
It wouldn't take a week before you would e looking to get out of this country. Nobody has to arrest you, or detain you, or even have contact with you from the INS. You would be hungry and homeless very quickly.
Today it's almost a badge of honor to not ask for documentation to get any benefits. I had to have ID for almost everything I had to do. During the housing bubble, a friend of mine was moving from Dallas area to Houston area and was selling his house. He got a call from the realtor saying they had an offer on his house. Everything was going fine for a WEEK OR TWO while my friend was getting ready to move out of his house. Then he gets a call saying there was a problem with the buyer. The Social Security number didn't match on the home loan. The mortgage company asked the buyer for ANOTHER SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER! They said they NEEDED A SS # that WORKS! Can you imagine? They new the guy was an illegal but were trying to get the loan anyway. What if he came back with your SS#? H4e eventually ran to Mexico after giving them 2 more bogus numbers.
I just refinanced my home and had a proctologist approval for my loan. How does a person get in for weeks before there is a problem? How does his children go to school without a BC? My daughter had to have one, I and my wife both had to have one. Now we can't even ask for one for president.
However, given the lackadaisical manner of the current administration regarding illegal aliens, the posse doesn't have any horses or guns and is too busy at the "Obama Drama" combo bar and cat house.
Did that help?
LOL! Come on, you can do better than that.
Maybe you can Google up some really creative ad-hominem insults?
