I’m in MA...with 600 ft of property frontage I pick up all sorts of trash - from cans & bottles to food wrappers & losing scratch tickets (with a nice mix of nip vodka bottles). The bottle bills are a money maker for the states that have them- if it was about ‘keeping the place tidy’ there’d be a deposit on Mickey-D burger wrappers.
It’s an enviro-weenie nanny-state tax
(finding new ways to pay for non-profit and hack state jobs)

To kill this bill, just tell the committee to apply the same charge to plastic bags used by newspapers when it rains.

If you know how to sew you can make one out of an old towel.

There are hundreds of small manufacturing companies that would love to have used "second hand" steel in order to make small tools, because new steel costs way more. Why would you call recycling junk science for those folks?
How about the guys that make compost decking and composit siding for homes is the fact that they used recycled concrete a junkscience idea or is it innovation? As for your plastic bags or where you throw them- I have no problem, and my post said that, I just know that cities earn a bunch of cash, thus lowering taxes, by selling those plastic bags to the guy who makes the fleece fabric or recycled boxes. Lower taxes - we do it in Texas, recycle bags, steel, boxes etc. etc , and it seems to help.

Sponsors of the measure say it is not meant to raise money, but to cut down on litter and pollution from grocery shoppers. Damn liars...
They know most litter comes from fast food joints, and greedymarts, and from illegal aliens who have absolutely no respect for our laws, rules or borders...

i'd think small garbage bags would work or have friends/relatives from out of the area send them their bags from their local grocery trips... there's always a way

Not just illegals but trashy low class Americans of either race.

I quite agree on that part. Here where I live they call wal mart bags “west virginia tumbleweed” I see them blowing all up and down I-64 even caught in trees. Honestly I know know who does it but along with all the other litter in WV it makes me sad.

I’m speaking of plastic bags. The junk science I’m referring to is the “global warming is going to kill us if we don’t recycle” foolishness.
