This is about the only thing i agree on that zero has done to date. The ban put in place about 5 years ago just stopped slaughter in the US. Horse’s were still SOLD for slaughter here, but are being shipped to Mexico or Canada. These animals were crammed into trucks and traveled sometimes days without food or water. By lifting the ban the end result is the same, but a more humane way of handling it.

It is no more wrong to kill horses for food than it is cows. Since we happen to like horses more than cows many people find it repulsive but the truth is, it isn’t.

Along the Colorado River ( CA) the BLM “rangers” shot the mules and left them where they lay. The mountain lions and coyotes took care of them but the smell lingered for months.

You may be righter than you know. The govt knows the train is going off the tracks. When the SHTF Fido burgers may start to look good.

In some blind canyons in Nevada in heavy snow winters, you can find horses in the spring that get trapped in snowdrifts, die and then when the snow melts they fall straight down to the ground in their own tracks.

The stench in said canyons come June is horrible.

And, we should NB, that the ban was led by Senator John Ensign, R-NV.

I never understood how moral relativism infiltrated this board so easily. There is no moral difference between killing one type of non-sentient then another, regardless of their status as pets.

I’ve never had horse before although I’d imagine it’d be a bit too lean for my taste but if someone wants to eat it, whatever floats their boat.

Zero didn’t LIKE lifting the ban. It was part of a bill that funded both the Ag Dept & a continuing resolution to keep gov spending another month. He had no choice.

Had it been a stand alone bill, he would have vetoed it.

I’m glad Obama was forced against his will to sign it.

After he ruins the US economy and regulates food out of production there won’t be much left.

I guess people can eat horsemeat....well, except for Himself and Moochelle and the commie elite. They will eat wagyu beef and lobster.

All of the horses you see as “wild” on BLM land today are feral domesticated horses. First, the Conquistadors turned some of their mounts loose, some were traded to Indians, and then the westward US expansion in the 19th century resulted in many more being turned loose. Thats where the burros in southern Nevada came from.

The last true wild horses in North America died out about 8,000 years ago.

The “wild horse” advocates today are trying to argue something about as incorrect as saying that a pack of feral dogs that sort of look like wolves should be allowed to run loose because wolves once ran over the length and breadth of the land.....

Well....God saw it different:

Lev 11:2 "Speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'These are the animals which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth:
Lev 11:3 Among the animals, whatever divides the hoof, having cloven hooves and chewing the cud—that you may eat.

Horse don't chew a cud and don't have split hooves thus God didn't designate them as acceptable food for his people.
