The reporter is named CARRIE ANTLFINGER? LOLOLOLOL!

Slightly OT. The shelter lost its lease. 20 miles up the road in Grafton, WI, I know of multiple businesses that have lost their leases and have had to close. What is going on. It’s not like there are many businesses just waiting to move in. These buildings are sitting empty. I know of one that has been empty for nearly 10 years — remodeled, good parking, nice location, etc. What’s going on with these landlords?

Nearer to where this animal shelter was located are 2 whole shopping centers (formerly thriving) — totally empty for at least 15 years. Who is paying those taxes? Why do these landlords think that no tenant is better than the tenant they already had?

In a couple of cases that I know about, the reasing the buildings are empty is that the landlord tripled the cost of the lease. Tenant moved out. Building is still empty half a decade later. I don’t get it.
