There is no such thing as the “common man” becoming president. The only person coming close was the failed haberdasher Harry Truman. But, Truman was a life-long student of History, a war hero, a county judge(really commissioner) and Senator - and brought to power by politcal machine. Was the movie-star, multi-millionaire Ronald Reagan a “common man”?
The point about Oppenheimer was that working on weapons does not qualify for military or political experience. It is not the president’s job to design weapons. It’s his job to know when to go to war.
I agree with the premise (and promise) of your title, but you’re an asshat for attacking him and his supporters.
“youre an asshat for attacking him and his supporters.”
Probably. But I just got sick of all the teeth gnashing and waling about how Cain was the last hope for America w/o anything to back it up. Like you I’m pulling the R lever next year no matter what. Any of the GOP candidates are better than 0bama.
Thank you for an honest and intelligent reply.
“What is the evidence Cain wouldve stood by his avowed conservative principles once in office? We had nothing to go on but his words.”
I’ve never heard of future evidence.
What assurance do we have from any candidate what he or she will do when in office?
