The NBA UNION Strike is all about money! The unions want more of the pie. The cities and taxpayers build the stadiums, the owners and union players get the money. Sure, the beer companies make some money and the parking lot sattendant makes a few dollars, but not millions or billions. The fans are the biggest sucker. The fans buy merchandise that is 800% overpriced because of a label. The fans have become, like the union players... Look at me, I got an official LOGO on my shirt... and paid 140 dollars for it. It’ all about hype and greed. Quit blowing your money on this worthless crap made in China! Oh, by the way, that is where some of your NBA players are playing. Real Union Loyalty!

>>Whereas a year without Baseball or a year without Football would be a major blow to FANS everywhere [emphasis added].
I don’t follow the logic. You are saying non-fans of the NBA don’t care. Check, understood, agree.
But you counter that by saying that a year without baseball or football would be a major blow to fans. Non-fans of those two sports wouldn’t give a crap. I know I wouldn’t.
So basically you are saying fans of a sport care about their sport, and non-fans don’t. Well, no kidding. That’s why they are called ‘fans’.
No what I am saying is Baseball and Football have FANS hard core fans, not just in their major markets, but NATIONALLY. They have serious FANS.. they strike and it matters, NBA strikes and its Who cares.
I am saying there aren’t many hard core NBA fans period, outside their major markets. That’s what I’m saying. Other sports, such as football and baseball have hard core fans across the country.
NBA has casual fans across the country, not hard core. Oustide the major markets, there are few if any hard core fans.. That’s the key difference. NBA strikes, no one cares. MLB or NFL strike and folks care. Cubs aren’t playing, fans in Wyoming are angry etc.
NBA does not have major hard core fan following outside of the major markets. They have casual fans.. folks who will watch a game if its on, but aren’t going out of their way to make sure they see it or follow it.
As a true lover of the game, its hard to get excited about the NBA at all. What they put on is bread and circuses and flash. Why is that?? Why is it you can be the professional version of the game, supposedly the best of the best and have folks who truly love the game, not care at all about the product you offer?
