They ran out of money, too. They had half the budget for Season 2.

Ain’t that the smegging truth!
Firefly was better than either.
Surely you can’t be serious?
I am serious! And don’t call me Shirley!
However, I wish they hadn't made any sequels or antecedents. Star Wars II (1980) was a disappointment, and Star Wars III (1983) was better than the first sequel, but not nearly as good as the original.
When the Star Wars series was revived in the 1990's, I only saw the first of the antecedents, but it was so inferior to the first three Star Wars films that I didn't see any of the others.
Koenig in Season 2 was much more of an impulsive sort. Destroying Mentor’s lab like he did in “The Metamorph” and screaming like a little girl when confronted by the blob monsters in “The Bringers of Wonder” would have made Season One Koenig puke.
Star Trek is superior. Star Wars derived a lot of ideas from Frank Herbert’s Dune series and adapted them for mass appeal.
Who are you calling a man?
This girl votes Star Trek all the way!
I’ve been told I don’t look and act like a typical Trekkie. But in my DVD cabinet is hidden every episode of the original and NG.
A bunch of nerdy looking boys were arguing over a rerun of the original series one day and I walked over and corrected their inaccuracies, all but quietly. It wasn’t cool to like Star Wars or Star Trek at my school.
But those nerdy guys had my back in physics when I needed a little help!
Now one is a Physicist and another a Physician that both say their love of science began with Star Trek. When I see any of them, now as adults, we laugh at me whispering the answer to their dilemma to them in the hall!!
Watch the episode, "The Omega Glory." You might be surprised.
Yes, si much better than the other stuff they were making in the ‘50s. and I say them all. I was a great fan of Galaxy Magazine. Not until “2001 Space Odyessey” did they make a movie up to that standards of that writing. Loved that episode of Deep Space 9, where the actors without makeup played writers in a mag like it.
Agreed. Little wonder he bailed from the LAPD, especially back in the head-cracking days of the '50s.
Deep Space 9 doesn’t count.
Just do the math. Which franchise made the most money?
End of debate.
(btw.... I don’t know which did but that should be the decider since that’s what they were after, right?)
These are not the droids you are looking for.
