my cousin bought one of those when they just came out. It was $25,000 from a dealer in Charleston, WV. I thought that was a fortune in 1978

As I recall it that 340 was a nasty little customer. Anyone building a 360 back then put the 340 heads on it.

It took two of us about an hour to knock off about 10K. While we had the dash apart...the BMW has these little idiot lights to tell you when to change the oil, we shorted them out with ac current. They popped like popcorn.

Just wow. I recently toured Rick Hendrick’s private collection. I believe that they said he had 178 cars, most of which were Corvettes. All in showroom or better condition.
Unlike Peter Max, Rick has a staff that maintains his cars ;-)
